Minus today, the pitching has been pretty decent. But the bats and the fundamentals need to step it up. That's the difference maker for this team.

At this point, I don't expect a fundamentally changed baseball team in 24, 48, or 72 hours.

    ... No really, deuces.

Wrong, Ta -- it isn't Gene who turned into a terrible base stealer this season.

At 17-26 coming into the game, Hall has been hurting the team with his base stealing misadventures even before today. Gene's been highly complimentary of Hall as a person and a teammate, and from all indications rightly so. But he's had a bad year this year in every offensive respect, and his poor base stealing has been the most surprising and disappointing part when you consider that he was 48-54 for his first three seasons. Unlike a lot of Shockers, Kevin never got much better at WSU, and he lost his confidence this year, possibly because he came in with high hopes and got off to a poor start. He can go get it in center field with the best of them, but the less he plays on offense the better off the Shockers are. That's not Gene's doing.

edit: NM, I don't need to be insulting individual players my bad.

Your a Gene fan and I'm not, I'll leave it at that.

Eventually though saying kids are different when all the other coaches deal with the same kids is BS.

So whose doing is it that he's playing offense?

              • Kevin writes the lineups. He's too "young and stupid" to take himself out.

I understand your point but its like criticising HCGM for missed free throws. The coach can't run the bases for them, and obviously he knew how to do it the last 3 years. The real question is why was he in the game?
