Earlier in the day when Mizzou upset Ou, he had posted that Indy State was no longer in. But he must have changed his mind, because he shows them as the last team in on his final projections.

If they look at the Valley as a whole and say no we don't want to give them 4 bids then yes WSU is out and I believe that is what will happen. If they simply pick the best option based on RPI, SOS, TOP 50, TOP 100 then WSU has Sam Houston, and CoC beat any day of the week.

I just don't believe they get in.

Yes SHSU and CoC are southern schools.

CoC 49
SHSU 52

SOS:

WSU 35
CoC 96
SHSU 116

TOP 50, TOP 51-100:

WSU 6-8, 11-10
CoC 6-9, 5-6
SHSU 4-5, 6-4

So yep no reason whatsoever that CoC or SHSU should be in over WSU, EXCEPT they just don't want to give Valley 4 teams. Sure SHSU won the regular season Southland but it was the 14th rated conference. Sure CoC took 2nd in the southern but it was the 7th rated and they too went 0-2 in their conf tourney so it's not like they have that over WSU.

The NCAA does have agendas sometimes There will exclude some lower RPI teams excluded because they finished last in their league. Some teams taken with higher RPI, especially teams from the Northern or North East conference will be given longer ropes. It is never consistent.

I tried to find who is on the selection committee but with no luck. But my perception is if it is dominated by BCS then they are more lenient to non-bcs conference, meanwhile if it dominated by non-BCS thn it like they are trying to show how impartial it is and the BCS conferences will rule the day.

The Chasing Omaha guy had it right in his final projections except for one, he had Wake Forest in the field instead of Michigan State (he had Michigan St as the second team out behind WSU):

Many pundits have been leaving Maryland and Va. Tech out since they both failed to make the ACC tournament.

Gonzaga is another one I would leave out since they went 3-10 against the top 50, a 10-13 road record, and 1 bad loss (sub 201+).

I would also leave out Charleston with their 49 rpi, 96 SOS, 5-5 in their last 10 games and like WSU went 0-2 in their conference tourney.

Michigan St. finished 5th in the big 10 (#10 conference), 3-6 record against the top 50, 5-5 in their last 10 games and 1 bad loss.

I guess that would be my 5, but I would also leave #50 Texas out too with their 4-6 finish including losing their last 3 conference series(especially with Mizzou winning today) and like WSU going 0-2 in their conference tourney. But I didn't include them on the out list because I have a sinking feeling Texas backs in.

I had 4 of the 6 right only missing on Charleston and Michigan St. Neither of which should have made it. Sam Houston State didn't even make Shock10s list as a possible contender. I guess a 50+ rpi from the #14 conference was in this year. I bet they had someone from that conference or even that school on the selection committee. There had to be some kind of connection there.

Just pointing out that the big 12 got 3 at large. The 4 best conference.
Conference USA got 3 at large as the 6th best conference
The Missouri Valley got 2 at large as the 5th best conference
The Southern Conference got 2 at large as the 7 best conference

The Valley is thought of as an equal to the Southern.
