WSU knew they really had little chance against SWMO ace so they just sandbagged them. SWOMO will be in for a surprise today and tomorrow when he releases the shocker thunder sticks.
Gene is master at strategery. Here WSU is 5-5, tied for 5th in the MVC. He lulled everybody asleep except for the few diehards who have already seen through his skullduggery and will probably be unleashing the full force of WSU juggernaut.

Remember the days when WSU would roll out the Friday starter against every Valley team and our opponents would say "Yeah, *fill in Friday starter* was tough but now we just have to compete against the rest of the starters and find a way to get a split."?
We don't compete like we used to, we don't play like we used to, we don't care like we used to and now teams like flipping Missouri State and Creighton and Indiana State have better material than we do.
Last night was so painful. To allow ANYONE, much less a shithole of a program like Missouri f****** State to just march into our place and suck the life out of us from pitch 1 is UNACCEPTABLE. I used to never leave early....now it's painful just to get to the yard much less stay and watch us strikeout like 40 times and get shutout. 10 years ago I thought it was against the rules for WSU to be shutout. Now it's borderline commonplace.
Missouri State has better talent than Wichita State, and they do A LOT MORE WITH THAT TALENT.
For the love of God, Gene, please leave with some dignity.

I hope I am proved wrong today and tomorrow.

"While we recognize that the subject did not actually steal any horses, he is obviously guilty of trying to resist being hanged for it."

Knowing Paul Evans, both guys will probably pitch again tomorrow.
If I'm recruiting a kid and I can show them that many pitchers from my program in the big leagues, he has to listen.
Besides, I think (as is the case with several schools) they divvy up scholarships differently than us.

To be any sort of "optimistic" at this point is delusional. The Shox aren't going to immediately do a 180 and become some great team. The material just isn't there.
And don't forget, Saturday and Sunday begins the stage in the season when TWO of the weekend starters are being replaced in the rotation by young, promising pitchers. These guys have looked good in recent outings, but Gardner and Mateychick will face pressure they haven't seen before. I hope they're lights out, but ...
