Seriously, look at all the trouble these players have had off the field this year and ask yourselves if you REALLY thought this team was capable of doing much this year. I mean COME ON!!! It all started last fall and has been snowballing ever since. One player suspended for his involvement in the accident, one kicked off the team for bad attitude, one suspended "indefinitely" for, well, whatever and another one that can't play (which quite honestly isn't missed) for his injuries that were sustained in the "accident" due to poor judgement and lack of character who will be serving his 10 game suspension next season provided he isn't in jail where he belongs. That drunk driving accident started the implosion of this team and they won't stop until they are nothing but ashes.

Brent seems to get a pass on telling it like it is about his guys when they stink -- whereas Gene would be accused of throwing them under the bus, and criticized for doing so --but maybe the problem, at least in part, is that he just needs to start getting better guys. How long has it been since talents like Aaron Shafer, Jordan Cooper, and Kris Johnson came along to make an impact right from the start? And who's out there recruiting their less-ready replacements? Could it be Brent himself?

Most top quality pitchers don't like playing for teams that have average at best offensive abilities, just like most top offensive players don't like playing for teams that have mediocre pitching. Brent's rep overcomes some of this, but our recent history of lesser offensive abilities is probably starting to make that much more difficult.
I've always believed it is much more difficult to recruit quality pitching, particularly a pitching staff with depth, than quality hitters. BK's continued success over the last several years makes me even more frustrated that we cannot seem to recruit equal quality offense.

The slide into the abyss continues. An “Old West” Texas analysis and summary of Mueller report and Congress’ efforts in one sentence:
"While we recognize that the subject did not actually steal any horses, he is obviously guilty of trying to resist being hanged for it."
