      • Does anyone else get the feeling Shane is holding back and if wasn't for losing his job, really wants to blast the coaching of this team?

        Anyone but me that is?

        • Will the pumpers please sit down now? I'm beyond pissed at this moment, in fact, the quality of baseball the last 4 seasons has numbed me to the point of indifference.

          • Seriously, look at all the trouble these players have had off the field this year and ask yourselves if you REALLY thought this team was capable of doing much this year. I mean COME ON!!! It all started last fall and has been snowballing ever since. One player suspended for his involvement in the accident, one kicked off the team for bad attitude, one suspended "indefinitely" for, well, whatever and another one that can't play (which quite honestly isn't missed) for his injuries that were sustained in the "accident" due to poor judgement and lack of character who will be serving his 10 game suspension next season provided he isn't in jail where he belongs. That drunk driving accident started the implosion of this team and they won't stop until they are nothing but ashes.

            • All's I'm hoping for this season is that the program finishes with at least 30 wins. That will be an achievement in itself.

I hope Kemnitz IS in a bad mood, because some of his guys aren't exactly getting it done right now. How many more 9+ ERA outings does it take to get Mormann out of the rotation, for example, until he gets himself together? Ever since the home run that led to his sudden blowup a couple of weeks ago, he's been awful -- so bad that the Shocks would literally be better off without him, in fact. (The worst thing a player can do for his team is not to get hurt, drop out, or any of those things that essentially erase him from the picture; it's to keep playing regularly and be bad.)

Brent seems to get a pass on telling it like it is about his guys when they stink -- whereas Gene would be accused of throwing them under the bus, and criticized for doing so --but maybe the problem, at least in part, is that he just needs to start getting better guys. How long has it been since talents like Aaron Shafer, Jordan Cooper, and Kris Johnson came along to make an impact right from the start? And who's out there recruiting their less-ready replacements? Could it be Brent himself?

                  • Most top quality pitchers don't like playing for teams that have average at best offensive abilities, just like most top offensive players don't like playing for teams that have mediocre pitching. Brent's rep overcomes some of this, but our recent history of lesser offensive abilities is probably starting to make that much more difficult.

I've always believed it is much more difficult to recruit quality pitching, particularly a pitching staff with depth, than quality hitters. BK's continued success over the last several years makes me even more frustrated that we cannot seem to recruit equal quality offense.

                    • Just gets so annoying to see the Pumpers out in full force after wins over 12-22 Big XII teams but disappear when WSU chokes off games at freaking Evansville.

The at large bid is looking dead on track.

                      ... No really, deuces.
