I'm definitely on the Hooper train - though what is he doing now?

Another proven college coach is Standiford that would not be a bad choice if they want to stay in the WSU family.
If Boaty was still AD it would be the height of hypocrisy if he were to fire Wedge for this particular health issue.

Big jump from Tabor to WSU. NAIA is basically high school level sports played by kids that aren’t quite ready to give it up, and who then make their college choice accordingly.

That actually not true. NAIA sports have a lot CC and D-1 transfers. Standiford has had success because he has been able to find talented players who have been overlooked or where misfits toys who eventually gotten drafted. He also runs Wichita Sluggers baseball academy which has been responsible for developing the SC Kansas baseball talent.

fADES and fADDB collaborated on the Butler hire although after the fact, fADDB said it was all fADES.

Hibbs was a pretty good coach for Charlotte. I would also like to see what he can do. We haven’t lost any players after the wedge news have we?

I have no problem with Hibbs, but he is 61, and may not be interested in the job. He definitely may not be interested in a 5-10 year gig.

I’d like to see Hooper with Hibbs staying on his AD consultant role.

Define "pretty good" - his last 6 years was 11th, 4th, 3rd, 8th, 10th and 11th (that was when Charlotte moved to Conference USA. Prior to that when they were in the A-10, that did make the NCAA tournament 3 out 8 years. He seemed to be ready to retire.

I would also like to see what he can do.
You will get that chance, for better or for worse.

If you mean since it has been announced this week? Haven't heard of anybody.

But WSU did lose players after the event that forced him to step away. Not as many as I thought, but it kind of late to be finding a new home this year.

That's quite an analogy/insinuation but what's floating around out there. If that's indeed the case, it's a very sad ending for a legend. Hope he gets the help he needs to land on his feet.

I think it may be time to give Mark Standiford a chance. We were at our best when we recruited hard here locally and in Oklahoma. Mark is a good evaluator of talent. He may be the right choice to elevate the program. Leave Scooter as Dobo and bring in a new pitching coach. There will not be a huge budget to pay a new baseball coach.

Players that were already committed or were entertaining the idea of coming here?

There are pinned recruiting threads that you may want to peruse and will likely have information you are interested in. My guess is yes there have been decomits. I exepct there will be more.
