The Shocks small a run home in the 4th. Ingram singles to right, Rodden bunts him 2nd, Thornhill moves him to 3rd on a groundout to 2nd and Rogers gets him home with an infield single deep in the hole at short. Shocks lead 4-2 into the bottom of the 6th.

Payton looked like he was going to get out of the 8th after giving up a lead off double but Payton gives up a 2-out home run on a 3-2 pitch he left up to one USF's best hitters with 1st base open. Game is tied at 4-4.
Payton then gives up a sharp single to left and a 4-pitch walk he is done. Ryan Stuempfig comes on in relief.
Payton was very good for 4 innings but it got away from him in the 8th.
Ryan gets a high bouncer back to mound to end the inning.
Too bad the Shocks couldn't find a way to push one of the 11 runners they have left on base across the plate.Last edited by 1972Shocker; May 21, 2022, 03:08 PM.

Good job by Stumpy so far. Bottom of the order due up for the Shocks in the 10th.Last edited by 1972Shocker; May 21, 2022, 03:32 PM.

The Tulane-Memphis game goes final at 11-1 after 5 innings. Mercy rule ending I guess.
So the AAC Tournament seedings are set:
1. ECU
2. UCF
3. Houston
4. Cincinnati
5. Tulane
6. Wichita State
7. Memphis
8. South Florida
Seeding-wise the Shocks got as good as they could have hoped for.
However, my enthusiasm for the Shocks' chances has diminished somewhat with the way they played this weekend. A team that is more likely to find a way to lose than to find a way to win.
