Has it even rained since this morning? Do they not have anything better than a little league drainage system there?
Seems to have been a waste to just call it a day at 10:00am.
In fairness, sporadic rain, but mostly just cloudy but however lightning in the area fairly regularly. That being said, since 430 no reason not to be playing. It’s perfect right now.
First game today is a 7 inning game then they will go back 9 innings in the 2nd game.
Caden Favors becomes the 1st Shocker pitcher to start 3 consecutive games.
The Shocks get on the board right off the bat with a Chuck Ingram single and a Brock Rodden RBI double to center on a well hit ball that as misjudged by the center fielder..
In the bottom of the 1st Caden gives up a 1 out single and a walk but gets ground balls to 2nd and short to get out of the inning.
The Shocks score 4 in the second on only 2 hits. X hit by a pitch, Seth singled to center, Ross safe on throwing error trying sacrifice and X scores with Seth going to 3rd and Ross taking 2nd. Andrew, who has been struggling bunts to the right side and is out at first.scoring Seth. Chuck caps the rally with a 2-run homer to left.
Caden sets the Bulls down in order in the 2nd. Shocks lead 5-0 after 2.
In the top of the 2rd Jordan leads off with a single and advances to 3rd with one out but X and Seth leave him stranded.
Cameron Bye comes on in the 3rd in releif of Caden. With 2 outs USF puts 2 on base with a single to center and a rare throwing error by Andrew Stewart. A double follow plating 2 runs for the Buls making it 5-
In the top of the 4th the Shockers loaded the bases on consective singles by Andrew, Chuck and Brock but Thornhill stirkes out and Jordan flies out to right field. Hope the Shock don't regret stranding this runners in the 3rd and 4th.
Cameron set the bulls down in order in the 4th although had to throw quite a few pitches.
Payton flied out to center opeining the 5th. Garrett pinch-hitting for X works a walk. Then the flood gates open. Seth sngles to right, Ross singles to right scoring Garrett, Andrew bunt to the right again and reaches safely when the ball is mishandled by the 1st baseman as Seth scores, Ingram doubles to left scoring Ross and Andrew as Chuck advanced to 3rd on error by the center fielder, Brock flies out to deep center scoring Chuck and the Shock are up 10-2.
In the bottom of 5th USF loads the bases on a 1-out single, a Thornhill error and a walk. A double to right center plates 2 and Cameron's day is done. Robert Cranz comes on with 1 out and runners at 2nd and 3rd. A grounder to 2nd gets the 2nd out at 1st but for some reason the runner on 2nd hesitated, maybe even took a step back toward 2nd before breaking for 3rd, Kocis one-hopped a throw to 3rd but Thornhill made a nice pick and tag to get the runner and end the inning. The play at 3rd as reviewed and the call stands. The runner who had been on 3rd did score making it 10-5 at the end of 5.
The Shocks tack on another run in the 6th inning on a 1-out double to left center on an 0-2 by Seth and a 2-out triple by Andrew making it 11-5. Both balls very well hit.
In the bottom of the 6th a lead off walk and a 1 out double puts USF runners on 2nd and 3rd. Cranz gets a fly to shallow left for out 2 but USF is back to the top of the lineup. A walk loads the bases and Conner Holden comes on in relief. A single up the middle scores 2. Conner then gets a strike out to end the inning. Shocks hanging on to an 11-7 lead.
Brock and Sawyre hit the ball very hard to lead off the 7th but have nothign to show for it. Jordan gets hit by a pitch but is then picked off first and is out breaking for 2nd.
In the top of the 7th a ground ball to 2nd for out 1. A single, strikeout and walk puts runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs. A fly ball to left filed ends the game.
Shocks win 11-7. Next game to start in 40 minutes. Around 11:40 CT.

We need to finish 6th. 6th is better than 5th if we actually want to have a chance in the tournament. Hopefully Tulane wins today so we don’t have to sacrifice a loss to go to 6th. If Memphis wins and we win both, we get the 5 seed, which means we get Cincy and then ECU. No bueno.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Shocker win + Memphis win = 5 seed (Play Cincy than either ECU or USF) Shocker win + Memphis loss = 6 seed (Play Houston than either UCF or Memphis) Shocker loss + Memphis loss = 6 seed
Shocker loss + Memphis win = 7 seed (Play UCF than either Houston or Tulane)
Shockers using the opener strategy again in the finale. I wonder if Xavier Casserilla was hurt in GAme 1 today. Looked the ball he was hit with might have got him in a bad place on the back of his left shoulder. Time for Garret Kocis to salvage his season.
Chuck Ingram with a lead off single and Brock Rodden hits home run #16 8n the top of the 1st to get the Shocks on the board early again at 2-0.
Not getting either an ESPN+ feed or live stats. Listening to Mike and Denning.
Jace gets a strike out than throws 8 of the next 9 out of the strike zone to put 2 runners on with 1 out prompting a visit from PCMP. After another strikeout USF gets a double off the very top of the fence to tie the game at 2-all. Note to Jace MIner. No one has ever figured out a way to catch a walk.
Shocks get two walks to open the 2nd. Andrew attempted a fake bunt-swing away and just missed a double down the left field line. He then laid down a good sac bunt to move the runners over. Chuck just missed a 3-run homer as his drive over the left field wall just went foul. He then grounded to 3rd without advancing the runners. The intentionally walked Brock to load the bases and Sayre flied out to left. A big missed opportunity for the Shocks.
Crieghton Hansen comes out to pitch the Shocker 2nd. Good move I think. Jace was not good in the 1st. Creighton's first 6 pitches were strikes and then he got an easy pop up to Andrew behind 2nd base.
