    • Winning beats the heck out of losing. 2 hours 31 minutes. Love the pitch clock.

I wouldn't call Wedge that to his face.

              • Also, just to say, no way in hell we play this game in recent years.

Executing and winning games like this (even against poor competition) can build on itself.

Shout-out to Barker, who threw a hell of a game and was out there for 2+ hours in brutal conditions.

Not sure fast enough to take a .435 hitter out of an othewise pretty anemic lineup. Cornblum must have a pretty solid approach at the plate.

                    • Mike gives the player of the game to Ryan Stuempfig for coming in and getting our out of a huge bases load, no out jam in the top of the 3rd. Can't really argue with that pick.

Importantly, all in bunting situations. Next time somebody bunts with runners on first and second and 2 outs, I hope they go ahead and clean out their locker.

Wasn't that Jacob Katzfey who did that? He got the bunt down in a critical situation in the 9th today. I keep thinking Jacob is going to break out. He just seems like too good of an athlete but that doesn't always translate to good baseball players.

I remember John Kruk telling the story about being at a a party and a women came up to him and said "I hear you are a professional athlete". He said, "No, I'm a professional baseball player"

Any way good job by Jacob getting the job done when called on in the 9th today.

We have to get David and Paxton into the everyday lineup, somehow, someway. But it is nice to have viable options there. Outfield of Gibby, DVV and Cornblum wouldn't bother me. Actually wouldn't mind if Gibby DH'd and we put more speed out there.

I feel like this staff is likely to give guys doing the right thing more chances. Won't surprise me at all to see Cooper Elliot get some chances this weekend.

Haase looked better today. Stumpy is impressive. Foster continues to do his job. Some things to build upon for sure.

                            • Tough conditions to play a baseball game but the team had resolve and made the plays when they needed to. I like way that Wedge has these guys playing together and working in those freshmen as building blocks. They seem to all get along and play hard for him. Now just need some nicer weather so more fans will come.

Yes. And it has been a not-uncommon type of play for some time. My point was not directed at an individual, just the type of play that makes less than 0 sense.

Katzfey certainly did his job today, and I commend him for it.
