Dayton reaches safely to open the Shocker 7th on an error but it was largely due to him busting his rear running out a ground ball to SS. Those are the kind of little things that can make a difference over the course of a season. Dayton deserves an atta boy for that one.
You mean that if One doesn’t get a K, runs a ground ball into a error, they can move along other base runners, and they are eligible to score a run themselves? Baseball IQ doesn’t come free and You are a genius.
Can't believe WSU's RPI is at 7 right now. Furman obviously doesn't have any pitching but we're putting up some big numbers and shutting them down ourselves. Eddy appears to be a stud.
Need to complete the sweep before we see how they do on the road in a "big" game.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Katzfey and O’Brien, Croft only bats to not play. All have relatively better numbers than most of the lineup. It was cool to see the young guns get a chance.
Starting to see some good old Shocker baseball at last. It's been a long time in coming, and there's a lot of season to go, but things are looking more promising than they have at any time this decade. Almost seven runs a game, 1.25 HR's; and on the mound a very solid slash line for opponents: .201/.302/.292. Plus, lots of good-looking young players, some still mostly in the wings but others like Liam Eddy stepping up already; and even some solid recruiting in Texas.
The basketball team has carried WSU athletics for quite a while now, so with this having been a disappointing year for them -- and keep in perspective, as those of us who were there in the 90s can easily do, how refreshing it is that these days 25-8, second place in a quality league, and a #4 NCAA seed that ended prematurely in an upset, qualifies as a disappointing year on the court -- maybe baseball can finally pick up its share of the load and salvage the spring for Shocker fans.
