You mean that if One doesn’t get a K, runs a ground ball into a error, they can move along other base runners, and they are eligible to score a run themselves? Baseball IQ doesn’t come free and You are a genius.

Can't believe WSU's RPI is at 7 right now. Furman obviously doesn't have any pitching but we're putting up some big numbers and shutting them down ourselves. Eddy appears to be a stud.

Need to complete the sweep before we see how they do on the road in a "big" game.

Katzfey and O’Brien, Croft only bats to not play. All have relatively better numbers than most of the lineup. It was cool to see the young guns get a chance.

Starting to see some good old Shocker baseball at last. It's been a long time in coming, and there's a lot of season to go, but things are looking more promising than they have at any time this decade. Almost seven runs a game, 1.25 HR's; and on the mound a very solid slash line for opponents: .201/.302/.292. Plus, lots of good-looking young players, some still mostly in the wings but others like Liam Eddy stepping up already; and even some solid recruiting in Texas.

The basketball team has carried WSU athletics for quite a while now, so with this having been a disappointing year for them -- and keep in perspective, as those of us who were there in the 90s can easily do, how refreshing it is that these days 25-8, second place in a quality league, and a #4 NCAA seed that ended prematurely in an upset, qualifies as a disappointing year on the court -- maybe baseball can finally pick up its share of the load and salvage the spring for Shocker fans.

Tommy Barnhouse with the start today? Interesting.

              No Jenista? Tweak something yesterday?

              Is O'Brien hurt?

Shox with some shoddy defense in the 3rd, Furman grabs the lead 1-0

Shocks even it up at 1 apiece on a bases loaded walk from Bohm. Bags still full of Shockers with nobody out for Wallace.

GIDP gives WSU a 2-1 lead but Furman no doubt happy with that trade.

Troutwine now up with a runner on 3rd, 2 outs. Fly ball ends the inning, 2-1 WSU to the 4th.

Tommy pounding the zone relentlessly, really a great effort from him on a short turnaround.

Still 2-1 WSU to the bottom of the 6th. Lungwitz with a couple clean innings in relief of Barnhouse.

Hitters need to take some pressure off the bullpen and provide some breathing room.

2-1 to the bottom of the 8th. Connor gave 2.1 solid scoreless innings, Clayton 0.2, and Cody threw up a goose egg in the 8th.

                        Bats sleepy today.

Couple bats not in the lineup. Haven't heard a reason, though O'Brien is now in

Jenista tweaked his ankle/foot yesterday per Shane and Dayton twisted his knee yesterday.

Neither is serious and both should be available Tuesday.

Ritter with a big solo bomb to provide an insurance run, 3-1 WSU.

Shox win 3-1. No drama in the 9th.
