No banter about how exciting it is to cheer on the Tigers in the postseason? Here's to Detroit this postseason and hoping that Dirks can be a part of a World Series championship!

Sorry, I hope Dirks makes the roster and has a great post-season, but I could care less about how the Tigers do. In fact, if he doesn't make the roster, I hope the Tiger outfielders go a big O-for (they should have selected Andy).

PS -- I don't care about the Giants or Mets either.

        :good:
"If you're going to do it, you're going to do it right," athletic director Jim Schaus said. "If we're going to put 'Wichita State' across our chest, then every team is going to matter."

Andy is on the Tigers 25 man playoff roster.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

Great! Now, instead of just rooting against the Yanks (no matter who they play), I can have an interest in a player going against them.

            Go get'm Andy!!

Great! I have someone to root for during the playoffs. Go Tigers!

Wow! Very bad for the Tigers, very good for Dirks perhaps. First, Delmon Young hurts his oblique and now Magglio Ordonez breaks his ankle and both are out for the Tigers.

This means Dirks' chance of getting playing time just increased tremendously. Although a lot of lefties are in store for the Tigers, he may not see as much, but this helps his cause.

The Tigers are bringing Young back.

Dirks is actually hitting better against lefties than rightes, though far fewer ABs vs. southpaws.

                  .323 vs. .239

He is hitting an even .300 vs. The Rangers.

Call me ignorant, but wouldn't Leyland much rather play a healthy Dirks to get good hacks at the plate and decent play in the field than a hampered Delmon Young? Young didn't look good in his first AB and I think this is a no-brainer. Then again, I haven't won a world championship.

OK - I rest my case. Young basically limped to that ball in the gap and couldn't put anything on the throw. Get Dirks in there!

                      • Dirks pinch hit in the top of the 9th for Inge and flied out to Center.

And he stays in right field.

Going to the bottom of the 9th.

                        Go Tigers!
