Andy is off to a great start. Batting .500 in the Major Leagues.

This will be the last time I do this, since it'd get a little silly to do it for each start if he's in the bigs for 12 years.

Dirks will start in left field Thursday against the Red Sox, the Tigers' official site reports.
Spin: Dirks will be making his second start since being promoted on May 13. The 25-year-old is capable of playing all three outfield spots and could see his fare share of at-bats while Magglio Ordonez is sidelined with an ankle injury.

If I am not mistaken, that game is on MLB TV tonight. Sweet I can flip over on commercials of the Shockers game and hopefully catch a couple of Andy's AB's.

Bob Lutz' article this morning was kind of odd. Anybody else think that? A chance to brag about a former Shocker, and he spent an entire article giving a poor breakdown of all the former WSU big leaguers. And gave an incomplete to Dirks, the one that has achieved a lot in a rather quick time in the pros.

I think Lutz woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

Dirks had a nice RBI and was even able to throw out a Boston player as he was running home to win the game. To bad Detroit still lost :(

I can't get the link to go to his RBI, just scroll down about 5 videos below his throw and it is titled first career RBI.

I'm happy for Dirks, but I'm glad Detroit lost.

                          His first RBI...

                          GO TIGERS!

That's the perfect scenario. Dirks plays well, Tigers lose. I don't see the downside here. :)

Andy breaks up Karstens perfect game, granted it was only 4 2/3 innings of perfect baseball. It was a bloop hit to center after a nice battle by Dirks. Way to go Andy!!!
