They have not been to the NCAA tournament for 2 years. There was a time when I remember Gene talked about their goal was to get to Omaha every year (getting to the NCAA was a given). Now he just hopes to compete for a MVC championship.

Yes in both cases.

Despite this being on my side, it is really stupid. WSU despite sucking national has continued to compete every year at the top of the valley. They are not an average valley baseball team.
