They beat Texas A & M tonight and are now 32-14 vs. a decent schedule. What is the staus of them joining the baseball Valley ?

If I remember correctly, they'll be joining the Valley as soon as next year.

    That's what I thought I heard anyways..
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

I know the coaches voted unanimously for DBU to join in 2012. I never did hear if the administrators approved it.

I just checked the Valley web-site and I couldn't find anything about it nor could I find anything about it on the DBU web-site.

For what it is worth, wikipedia does say that DBU will become a Valley affiliate member in baseball only starting in 2012.

I hope it happens. The road trip to Dallas is a fairly easy one to make (for us but no one else in the Valley).

I forget who the nay sayers where back when all the talk started, but there were several who completely hated the idea. I couldn't understand why they thought adding DBU for baseball only was a bad thing.

If they keep up what they've started, they could quickly become the perennial favorite. I don't care how it happens (different coaches, different players), and I realize the gaudy times of the heyday are long gone, but I want at least the old competitive mojo back!

I am pretty sure they are all set to join next season. Should be a decent SOS upgrade for the Shocks each season, and it beats the hell out of traveling to Frostbite Falls in Iowa every other year.

Looks like they don't join until 2013 season.

Figures. This means we have 3 conference series at home and 4 on the road next season. Ouch.

I wonder if Brent was able to schedule DBU in 2012?

My impression from the article is that they will play the league schedule in 2012, but will not factor in the standings. Then they could be added officially in 2013.

"Because scheduling is usually done in two-season increments, the Patriots will play all MVC schools in weekend series in 2012 and 2013.

                        IDK what your point is?

They will not be in the Missouri Valley next year, end of story.

If I recall correctly the MVC wants all the teams to actually play with DBU before making an official decision. Thats why they are on everybody's schedule and regardless of the leagues decision they will remain on the MVC teams schedules thru 2013.

Ok I didn't realize you quoted my question about WSU playing them again next year. Thats my bad for not reading which quote you quoted.

I thought you were saying they were in the valley next year just didn't count in the standings. Which is why I responded the way I did.

Even if their games don't count in the standings, it sounds like they will actually be in the Valley in 2012 and 2013.

I guess everyone wants to see how bad the road trip to Dallas is before they make a final decision on allowing Dallas Baptist into the Valley.
