I always get a kick out of the "It's good for the state when both teams are good." crowd. They change their tune quickly, and abruptly I might add, when it looks like the better team might be WSU.

      • OK, I read the article and found it to be unbelievable. The Post wants the reader to believe the father is struggling financially but maintains his family's integrity by refusing to accept money while knowing other financially struggling families with gifted athletes are accepting money. Now the victimhood of his son, his family and himself are being touted for any naive reader of the NY Post.

I dunno, I thought the "an adidas rep tried to push us toward a school in the Big Ten and another in the b12 that adidas had contracts with." was pretty encouraging. If my memory is correct isn't there only 1 school in the b12 with an adidas contract? Said school that has been on probation a time or two, and who lately has demonstrated a lack of institutional control?

Appears kinda' like the early stages of people covering whom are covering their asses. Just in case...

There are two schools in the B12 that are represented by adidas.

            • I found it to be reasonably credible. Why take $100k and risk losing millions in the draft by being ineligible and unable to showcase your talents. I find it to be a bit less likely that they were doing this with a bunch of kids.

With Adidas being dragged into [the FBI investigation into college basketball recruiting practices][1] from the outset and reports of a subpoena connected to Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League surfacing following further investigation on Wednesday, it seems as if the biggest players in the shoe game that have run AAU basketball during recent years have found […]

This Chicken blogger wishes there was another adidas rep in the b12. Maybe he was working off a hangover when he composed the blog. So who's the other one?

I kinda agree with this. It is possible for some kids to have dreams at playing at certain schools. Conner Frankamp anyone?

Agreed. The Chickens probably didn't offer him any dough. He wasn't an "investment". That's why he ran the pine, and then ran outta there.

I'm sure Zion will be found to have participated, but KU will be al, "I didn't know"

The players getting the big bucks risk nothing if they're declared ineligible. They sit out a year and still get drafted as lottery picks. The shoe companies lose out because the star player isn't on national TV 30 times wearing their shoes.

I also suspect that the NCAA knew about this and the shoe companies knew that the NCAA knew. If that scenario is true, then everybody knew that no players were going to be declared ineligible for getting steered to the "right" schools.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."
