No, it got moved because we had the Shockernet political activists run amok about the Mizzou racial crap.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

I think someone said it should be moved to the Political forum, however, I said it should have been in the Around the NCAA from the beginning. Not trying to be the thread police, but just tell me what this thread has to do with WSU. "Games of Interest" does because those are teams we will be playing.

It all has an effect on our ranking. Somebody pays somebody that plays somebody that we beat this season.

I merged the two the threads and left a one hour redirect.

Don't know if it belongs here, but the other shoe has dropped and we now have a three-alarm dumpster fire. Gary Pinkel, MU's head coach resigned for "health reasons".

Don't know if "health reasons" is his health, the chancellor's health, the university's health or the AD's health, you decide.

Understood, but according to what I read, the lymphoma wasn't a particularly aggressive form, easily treatable with a great prognosis. What I read about it seemed to imply that he could easily continue working while undergoing treatment.

Not trying to sound paranoid, but I don't quite get why a coach would resign just because he had a form of cancer that is very treatable (https://www.sharecare.com/health/non...lymphoma-fatal) with odds that he could live a normal life. And the timing is extremely odd, coming just after his support for the football team involved in the student walkout. He has known since May or June he had cancer and he could have announced it at any time.

As my mentor Judge Judy would say, 'if something doesn't make sense, then it probably isn't true.'

No, I'm placing my bets on another reason that we will probably never know.

Either way, best of luck to him in his fight.

I hear what you're saying. And I agree. My intent was just that he did have a legitimate excuse, even if that's exactly what it was, an excuse.

I have had 2 close friends and a grandfather battle this exact strain of lymphoma. I believe the odds of survival is 3 in 4, meaning 1 out of 4 die. Both of my buddies survived, my grandfather did not.

Personally, I do not blame the man for wanting to do everything he possibly can to ensure he lives. Situations such as this gives a person deep clarity on life and what is important in our short time on this rock. I will take him at his word.

Is this really a debating point? The guy has made upwards of $30 million coaching football for the last 20 years. If someone tells me I have a 1 in 4 chance of dying, I'm spending every minute I can with my family and friends. Bye bye job.

His decision isn't hard, it's not even a discussion.

Gary Ponkel got a divorce in 2012, it appeared to be acrimonious and his ex hit the goldmine. I also saw where he now has a girlfriend, new wife or fiancée. Depending on what the two girls cost him, if he liked his job, he might just be more like me.

                                LSU/Ben Simmons 58

Note: LSU was down 39-17 at half and yet another reason P5 schools don't like going on the road to non-P5.
