    White out.
    Exciting.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

So you had John Q. Hammons fund yours? What's your point?

Right now, I feel like we are a 20 year old beating up a 1st grader in this debate.

I am a big Valley fan, and I would love to see MoSt bring something to the table this season. @Jtaylor, instead of giving me attendance figures, give me a rundown of the team and what the current vibe is from the fans on how they will do this season. Believe me, I really am pulling for the Bears to get back under control
Men's basketball is going to be pretty bad in 2015-16. Honestly I rarely think about basketball and when I do it is typically the Lady Bears. They should have a really good team this year I believe. I have always been more of a a college football/baseball guy. To me most college basketball is nearly unwatchable now. The NBA is a vastly more entertaining product and if I am going to watch basketball it is going to be that. Or a Lady Bears game. The women's game has improved in terms of play dramatically in the last decade.

I know you will have a great men's basketball team this year. You will likely throttle us twice. I probably won't watch. I won't even watch much of the Bears men's team. I think our schools are moving in separate directions. WSU has no interest in football. You generally mock FCS level football and are quite proud of becoming the Gonzaga of the Midwest. We on the other hand, have a fantastic arena for men's basketball if we can ever hire the right guy and turn it around but we are going crazy for football and baseball. Football won't have a good record this year. You will mock us and our continued pursuit in that sport. Make meth jokes, joke about cattle being sold. Whatever. In the long run we will have a good football team and I cannot be happier that we are hitching our wagon on the most popular sport in this country and not a sport that is seeing massive decline in interest (men's hoops). I will also continue to take pleasure in our baseball success. You won't admit it, but even with the men's basketball success it is still jarring that the bread and butter sport at WSU is languishing so far behind Missouri State.

So in summation, enjoy basketball. It will be a great year for your Shockers. Without football and with bad baseball, the athletic experience in Wichita basically starts in November and ends in March. At MSU we will enjoy football even through the growing pains knowing that better days are ahead and then we will have baseball in spring. The athletic experience in Springfield stretches from September to June. The men's hoops will suck in the middle, but I hate winter anyhow and cannot wait for spring.

Koch has very little to do with the retained endowment (their gifts are usually consumed for a specific project) and essentially nothing to do with research funding.

          Nice try thought otherwise.

Hell if the unfounded condescension (with special passive aggressive sauce from LfG) from MSU posters isn't too good to pass up. Number and facts - that prove it to be David versus Goliath comparison in any number of academic, financial, or athletic contexts - be damned with these goons. They are going to figuratively roll by our house proudly flaunting their 20 year-old Caddy donk whether you like it or not. We're just haters, 'cause we be jealous.

Let's be totally honest here. It is unwatchable to you because your program is in a nuclear meltdown.

The college game is not struggling for ratings or support... please.

I'll channel my inner King Obama here and say, "look, let's be clear," in the past five years WSU has seen it's worst stretch of baseball performance since it was reborn under Meany Genie; in that same period you seem to think the MSU performance is some of the best, if not the best, in the history of your program. Would it shock you to know that in that five year period MSU has won just eight more games than WSU in grand total, with one more NCAA appearance (albeit one of those for MSU is solid)? Eight games dude. Our worst; your best. Ponder. Oh, and one SR, something we had two of just seven years ago (hosting one, since you know our stadium is actually our stadium and all).

Shall I do a similar compare with fan attendance? That would surely embarrass the hell out of you.

                College basketball is becoming unwatchable.

The 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship across TBS, CBS, TNT and truTV is the most-watched NCAA tournament in 22 years, according to Nielsen Fast Nationals.

                  College basketball is becoming unwatchable.

NCAA men’s basketball saw a slight bump in overall attendance for the 2014-15 season as 32,510,647 fans came to watch student-athletes in Divisions I, II and III. Compared to last year, 480 more fans attended games, making this past season the eighth highest attendance in NCAA history. The record of 33,396,316 fans in a single season was set in 2007-08. In Division I, attendance totaled 27,422,615 for the year. Although it was down slightly from a season ago, the attendance is the ninth highest total in history. However, the NCAA tournament total attendance increased.

I doubt if you have the inside scoop on research funding. By the way nice avatar, may the force be with you.

Remember that time about 5 years ago, when you couldn't keep yourself off this forum, talking about how awesome basketball was? Funny how things change when your one-hit wonder team became an RPI killer. The fact that you are pulling the FCS cart so hard it's almost too much. To the point where 60 point losses to mediocre football programs is a reason for optimism.

                          You're an afterthought.

What's ironic is that there is more football discussion on this site than on the Bare fan site. And they're the school that has a football team (albeit a I-AA nobody). Sad, isn't it?

I'm not sure what to think that 2 MSU fans are lingering around an NCAA subforum on a WSU message board other than the fact that our opinions do matter and even in September, we're still in their heads.

LOL at the 18,000 comment. jtaylor, you're embarrassing yourself mightily. I'd back it off now so you have some dignity left when you take your carcass back to Springpatch. My goodness this is a bludgeoning.
