If that's true, Stalwart, I agree -- the AD is smart indeed to consider Moton, because Levelle strikes me as a high major coach in a low major program (a good one, but a low major nonetheless). He'd have been a good guy to bring to Shockerland if Lynne and the big money crew had allowed Marshall to fly the coop for Tuscaloosa.

There you have it. Iowa State went with Prohm. Who will it be at Murray State? That's a good job, too.

I'm shocked that Marshall didn't take this opening, being a done deal and all. You know, I can think of one guy who would be a great coach at Murray State, but he is currently rebuilding his life. Yeah, it's a bad idea, but the thought did cross my mind.

That's just a solid hire, imho. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see ISU get over the hump and unseat ku next season.

I think Iowa State lost a very good coach when the mayor left, but as far as a replacement goes, I don't think they could've done much better.

It will be glorious if a first year mid major coach is the guy who exposes the streak. There are two of them (Shaka and Prohm) coming in who can both pull it off. I think I can root for either one in this sense. It's the greater good and all.

After reading this, I have no doubt he's going to succeed at ISU: http://www.southeastoutlook.org/news...9bb30f31a.html

I just can't root for Shaka and or Texass. When Texass and Kansass play I want it to end a tie game.

What do you mean it can't end in a tie? Maybe if both teams got into a bench clearing brawl and both teams had so many players ejected that it ended in forfeits by both teams. I could live with that also.

I have more trouble rooting for shaka than I do Texas. Although it's probably only because texas has been so irrelevant lately. You almost get to a point where you are rooting for the underdog and realize, "wait, it's texas?"... Now if they starting winning all the time I'll be back to probably rooting against them.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Therefore, I root for UT and ISU. I agree that it will be high comedy if one of these new coaches from a non P5 conference ends the streak.
One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.
