There's just no way of looking at the KU football situation and finding a way to get any positives out of it.. The topic is almost as perplexing as the WSU parking situation.

The parking situation at WSU isn't that bad unless you're lazy. I work with a couple of students who are on campus during the day and they have no problems finding parking. Yes, they have to walk a bit, but it's not that bad.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

The rest of the world looks at us and just scratch their heads.
I don't think you realize how good the parking situation at WSU is. If Bardo beefs enrollment up by 7,500, then you will have something to start complaining about.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

They do have a cell phone and a car though, which they need for their job.
But to your other points:
1) If you are living at home with your parents, I bet you have: a roof over your head, cable TV, Internet access, electricity to plug your smart phone into, a flatscreen TV to watch, and hot water.
2) If you are truly poor, you WILL take the time to get those food stamps, because they are a critical part of your lifeline.
3) When you are destitute you get health care from the best doctors on the planet when you need emergency services, even without insurance. When you are destitute, you get healthcare when you stay at a hospital while your baby is being delivered, even without insurance. When you are destitute you get health care provided for your children free of charge.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

The way I see it, WSU is one step ahead of KU when it comes to the football situation. Cessna Stadium, or at least portions of it will most likley be torn down for more parking, whether or not that means a parking garage in that area or just more parking in general, is not known. Either way, if WSU brought football back 50 years from now, it would be starting completely from scratch instead of even trying to mess with Cessna which probably wouldn't even be around anymore. KU on the other hand, their football circus just keeps going... and going.. The best thing for them would be a whole new football stadium to solve the first part of the mess. That won't happen though. The powers that be up there will just slap some concrete patches on here and there and build a bigger press box. Then after all that they will still act confused when they wave millions in coaches faces and get turned down.

According to the plans laid out by WSU, and being talked about in the Off Topic forum, it appears that many of the East Side seats at Cessna will become a parking garage. Eventually the West Side seats will suffer with an added athletic facility of some sort. Some seating will be maintained for T&F purposes. And it sounds as though the parking garage may be next on the agenda after the new residential facility is complete.

Either way you look at it, the Charlie Weis project has proven to not be short term turn around already. I think the only way his job remains safe after this season is because the KU AD is probably focusing his attention elsewhere like the football stadium improvements and other parts of the athletic department in general.. Even though Zenger didn't hire Turner Gill, I'm sure he's burnt out on hiring football coaches that will supposedly make things better already.

How can his job be in question when he only has one full season under his belt there? Are KU fans really that stupid that they expect a horrid program to be turned around with one recruiting class? Or has he been there two? Either way, not enough time to revive such a sorry excuse for a program. I think he could have some minor success there if they let him build it.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Remember that KU's motivation is image, image, image. Bill Snyder only won one game his first season at Purple Passion State. Then went 5-6 the next year. Guessing that's the expectation in progress.Last edited by Kung Wu; September 19, 2013, 02:01 PM.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

If you're the AD and worst comes to worst, I think you have no choice but to leave Weis as the coach and be terrible, while you make stadium improvements... There's just something about this subject that makes me think KU football has much bigger problems than just coaching. One is, they have no football culture up there. This is the subject that KU, nor their fans want to discuss. Their football stadium, it's the oldest college football stadium West of the Mississippi, should of been torn down instead of refurbished.

I would say all of that would make sense for the hiring of Turner Gill.. The only problem was they didn't hire him for cheap! lol.. It almost has me wondering if Gill didn't make an agreement with someone in the KU athletic department somewhere along the line that consisted of "Ok Turner, this is what's happening to our athletic department funds right now, we won't have the resources to follow up with that Orange Bowl season or any other season after the 2005 season for quite sometime, so just work with what we have right now for this lucrative amount of money and all will be good." But obviously this theoretical agreement that I'm conjuring up obviously did not carry over the rest of the University. And at least as of right now, Charlie Weis appears to be running into the exact same problems Turner Gill did.
