OU has dealt 2 incredibly heart breaking & historic beats to the Longhorns the last 2 seasons (4 OT win 2 seasons ago and come from behind walk off win last season) and given that OU has no chance to slow down UT stars WR Xavier Worthy and RB Bijan Robinson much less stop them, it looks like the Horns will exact a painful revenge vs the Sooner Saturday Morning. I wish it was. TCU is talented at the skill positions and made OU look terrible, gouging them for 4 TDs over 60 yards. Texas has more talented and faster skill players than TCU. OU is battered (they lost 6 starters to injuries including their best secondary guy and QB Dillon who is irreplaceable) and now lacks any confidence they built up in the first 3 weeks. Does OU have a chance? A slim one, but if Texas gets off to the 14-0 start they did last year....look out because they could name the score against this D, especially with OU not having a D1 QB. From a guy that's been to a bunch of these games in my lifetime, this game smells like a possible blowout if not a complete mismatch. I loved the Venables hire, but there was a (mostly ignored) possibility that he might not be ready for the big chair.

Interesting tidbit...neither OU or Texas are ranked in the AP Top 25, but they are both Top 10 in Sagarin and SP+ (ESPN+ subscription required). Think of SP+ as the KenPom of college football and of Sagarin as the, well, Sagarin of college football. There are some preseason ratings baked in, but thought it was interesting.
Six of KU's last seven opponents in Sagarin/SP+ are no lower than 22 in either system. Leipold has done a good job, but they're about to face a murderer's row of opponents. I'd almost bank on them winning just one of these last seven, and there's virtually no way they win more than two.

Did anyone watch the Vols today? Josh Heupel is trending. Brian Kelly is too. Vols / Bama next week.
It was good to see the Chickens go down today too wasn't it? That's always a good reason to pop back in again after being away from basketball for so long.

OU is done for this year. They still have probably 2 or 3 more losses in conference at a minimum.
KU had their QB get injured. Probably hurts alot depending on severity. KSU pulled out another one.
TCU is good, as is OSU and Baylor.
The big boys still are way ahead of the rest. Gonna be an SEC/B1G thing again this year.

The replays of the Ku kid breaking his leg were nasty. Literally no one was paying attention because they were trying to get the replay footage. Felt terrible for the kid, and you all know what I think of Ku.
Crazy day of football. The UT Bama game was a once in a lifetime game 52-49 walkoff FG. Okie State blows a 17 point lead and then loses in OT at TCU 43-40. Both those games were happening at the same time (along with what turned out to be the middle of the Houston Seattle playoff game).
If you went to bed a little early, you missed Utah trail the entire game at home vs USC, but they went 75 yards in 5 minutes to pull within 1 at 42-41 and went for 2 with 48 seconds left.
And got it. 43-42 Utah, final.
Notre Dame 14 Stanford 16 at South Bend. That hurts.
The 'Cuse must have Jimmy Boehiem helping with the schedule. 5 games at home in their 1st 6, the only roadie at UCONN who is a borderline D2 program now. They are 6-0 but about to receive a major reality check at Clemson next week.
Georgia continues to roll beating Vandy 55-0. Clemson wins and it's hard to see them losing the rest of the way.
Michigan and Ohio State appear to be on a collision course, with the winner destroying whomever survives the west (maybe Illinois lol).
Tennessee and Georgia could be interesting in a couple of weeks. Could TCU stay unbeaten? UCLA? Pretty much looks like OSU/Michigan, Clemson, SEC winner and a wildcard 4th. I wonder if say UT beats Georgia and then wins the SEC...would they take a once beaten Georgia over an undefeated UCLA or TCU?

Where does win #6 come for KU? Their remaining games are against ranked opponents and/or are on the road. That would be kinda funny for them to start 5-0 and lose 7 straight to miss a bowl game...just like they did in 2009, which got Mangino fired (along with a host of other issues). That said, that kind of collapse probably takes the bloom off of Lance Leipold if we want to get him to bounce out of there so that KU can go back to vigorously inhaling.78-65

But even without the starter, they've been competitive and in games and if he can stop making a couple of horrible throws each game, they have even better chances.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
