Well, this is what it is. However, if I was in Weber's shoes, I would hire the very best recruiter I could hire and have the kit-cats offer the money it would require to do so. Money talks or Weber and the AD may someday walk. He seemed to win when he had Bill Self's recruits. Speaking of that, I was sure glad the Shockers signed Kyle Wilson 'way back when,' who was also a Bill Self recruit.

Hearing reports that Chris Lowry will be on Weber's staff; and Brad Underwood.

I figured Underwood would have bolted yesterday to be with Martin in S.C. Unless he is figuring on a short stint for Weber and he then gets the nod. If he's going to be an assistant I think I would stick close to Martin. I think he is going to do pretty good in S.C.

I don't have anything to add but I'd like to bump this just in case there is a KSU fan lurking here. Nothing like keeping the old fire stoked.

Lowery will be the top assistant it sounds like. That is what is on Kansas.com at least. I can't post a link because I am on my phone.

How many other fired coaches can they get?

One thinks that SIU fans are becoming more and more pleased with their situation....just look around and see who has who.....Barry is looking better and better with each passing day.

Just received word from 2 sources Brad Underwood will not return to #kstate. One source says he is headed to S. Carolina.

And we thought the Currie backlash was bad prior to that... wow. Not good news for KSU.

I can understand why KSU fans are mad. Doug Gottlieb seemed to be a favorite of a lot of their fans for the job.

Which makes sense. Weber by all accounts is a nice guy and a good person. Gottlieb fits the KSU standard much better.

And since Martin won't be there to potentially slip them money in the future, Gottlieb could have told them how to fraudulently charge money to people's credit cards to pay the bills. I'd assume he's figured out how not to get caught by now.

Hire "the very best recruiter" -- so that's why Lowrey was hired. (Sarcasm guys, sarcasm).

Lowery was a hell of a recruiter. I believe he was very involved in the successes of the previous staffs and did a very good job recruiting as a head coach. He just wasn't a good coach and couldn't develop talent

Watching the sky fall on Manhattan the past couple of weeks has certainly been interesting. KSU fans seem like they have no idea how bad this could actually get for their favorite school. I've heard a couple old timers say this could not have happened at a worse time because Bill Snyder will probably be retiring soon also. By this they mean, if KSU football and basketball sputter, can they recover? I think them nearly losing their football team in the 80's is what has a lot of them on edge. They would never cut their basketball team, at least I don't THINK they would.. Who know's with KSU though. They have to be the oddest fit of the 3 D-1 schools in Kansas.

KSU's football program will be in good shape when HCBS retires. Word is that they will just pluck Terry Allen out of Missouri State.
