When Weber was at SIU, he was the architect of their great defensive teams. He was Painter's mentor and Keady was his. However, it doesn't look good for him to be fired from Ill. and KSU to hire him. It's kind of funny.

Seriously, K State fans? They act like they are entitled to Coach K or Bill Self because of a few good seasons. Surround him with assistants that can recruit and they will be okay. You may actually be able to take young kids to the games now.

There are bigger problems in the world than an a third thread. I may start a 4th.

Not only that. It's in the wrong forum.

Yes, it really is, but here's a rationale for you that has (essentially) worked plenty of other times: Maybe now that former Valley coach Weber is at K-State they'll be more inclined to play WSU, etc.; therefore it affects Shocker basketball. Kind of like the left's interpretation of the Constitution's Commerce Clause: it accommodates whatever they want it to cover. Same with the "Men's Basketball" Forum: it includes whatever a given poster happens to have on his mind while viewing a Shocker message board.

Frankly, the obsession over 'if it's in the right forum' or 'we already have a thread on that topic' is this boards' only true weakness....Who cares? Don't read it,if it's in the wrong spot!

So will we still have a forum after the zombie apocalypse? Just wondering!

Who cares. They still won't play us. If I were a fan I'd be upset with this hire too

Yeah because our schedule over the last how many years has been loaded with former shocker (and other Valley schools) former coaches. Keep hope alive!!!!

If Coach Weber does not work out, AD Currie may have just bought a one-way ticket out of town.

It seems to me that recruiting will be difficult, given Coach Weber's track record in recent years.

I think hiring Weber is a mistake. I never cared for him, and I think he will just be a so-so coach. Surely, Currie had better candidates than Weber. Shotgun hire, and won't work out in th long run.
