OK. I tried it shockband's way, and copied the image address. Used the [IMAGE] toggle advanced editor, pasted the image address in the box and unchecked "RETRIEVE REMOTE" option and now I don't have to download the files to a device.

My first attempt was rejected because of "exceeding maximum size - I think 2mb." It makes it more work to post gifs, which sux.

I can raise the limit ... what's a reasonable limit for GIFs y'all?

Turned that off. I'll assume our highly sophisticated user base won't rage post and fill the server up.
