But you said it was just nursing homes... Sicko indeed!
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

So I shouldnt use what I paid for? I think it needs fixed. I think it is a much bigger crisis than 15% uninsured. Did you know that medicare, medicaid and SCHIP eat up more money than the DOD? And its growing.

Im sorry I upset you, facts are facts, just because you were wrong on the nursing home thing, dont deny me benefits I paid for.

Thank God for medicare and medicaid for THIS and possibly the next generation that are able to take advantage of it. Because it's unsustainable and cannot survive in its current form for two more generations. And Obamacare does nothing but exacerbate the problem, making sure that while YOU may be cozy on medicare your grandchildren will not. But piss on them right?

Not true WU http://www.cbpp.org/cms/?fa=view&id=3532 Now you all love to quote far right articles both home and abroad just what is your alternative? Everyone agrees our healthcare system before ACA is unsustainable, wheres your plan? Please dont say tort reform.

Not denying you benefits , everyone knows as babyboomers age health care costs are increasing, when you take them quite bitching about Govt run healthcare. To say single payer countries are grossly mistreating elderly by posting articles from right wing sources is not fact but a gross misrepresentation. Are there problems yes,no system is perfect. I will tell you, travel and ask them if they want a system like ours.If they hate their healthcare why do they keep it? I'll tell you why it aint that bad. It simply isnt an issue overseas.

              • With the exception of the Standard, all of my links were left wing links. It was on purpose. Why do the left wing sources post the same concerns?

                • I wasn't going to post this link, I really wasn't. But KC accused me of only posting right wing links, so I decided to post yet another link from LIBERAL LEANING The Guardian.

You just have to love the Germans. From building clocks to starting two world wars, the Germans are always on the forefront of solving human problems. How are they fixing their elderly problem? EXPORTATION!!!

Yep, the Germans are shipping grandma off to Eastern Europe!!! I thought they only exported Jews to Eastern Europe. I was wrong...

                  Linky, link, link, link, link.

Pensioners are being sent to care homes in eastern Europe and Asia in an austerity move dismissed as 'inhumane deportation'

                  • I love how KC tried to play the Fox News card, but of all of the links I have posted, only one was conservative.

You really might consider sitting on your arguments for a day or two and then reread them before you post them. Just an idea.
Again, this doesn't not in any way refute what I said. The only thing you've said in this post, and the earlier post that was all quotes and snippets is that you are not used to dealing with people that actually argue against your opinions. The very IDEA that someone posts something you disagree with is silly. But since I did not post the links of what I was working with, I can see why you felt that you didn't need to argue.

Basically, every cut-back in socialized medicine has been because of outside economic pressure not related to healthcare. Here is an article about Europe's cuts. Note that these cuts have all had negative affects both healthcare and the economy, and that "the greatest bulwark against these challenges is their broad popularity." I'll note the use of a common US tactic:

The right wing uses the cause of cost-containment and deficit reduction, combined with allegations of inefficiency, to chip away at the margins of these programs, to promote privatization and reductions in benefits, while at the same time avoiding a frontal rhetorical attack.
I'll reply to your longer post later when I have time. The forum already ate my first reply.

                        • Okay, I was having fun there, KC, too much fun. Nothing like a story about the Germans shipping off a class of people, though. You just have to love the way the Germans think, "They are bringing our great society down! They are the reason for the bad economy! PUT THEM ON THE TRAIN!!!"

                          ROFLOL111!

On a serious note, would you accept a report published by The Oxford Press? Pretty reliable. By the way, this IS about UK nursing homes. Also, they call nursing homes "Care Homes" in Europe, not hospitals. When you see a story that headlines with the word "Hospital" they are referring to a hospital. When they say "Care Home" they mean nursing home. Funny thing about the Britts, the language is the same... but different. Here.s the link.

Besides being hilarious I think there are some serious learnings here. Kansas and Nebraska should start shipping their elderly out to California and call it medical tourism! Mom'll get that ocean front property after all and Hollyweird can pay for it.
