Instead, we get a mess, garbage that will eventually force everyone into what will be a single payer plan. I really think that was the ultimate goal, though, screw everything up so badly that the only fix is single payer.
What party would that be since I've never been a member of any party?

I assume then that you're all for paying for the emergency room medical bill for those that don't have insurance?

Things have changed a lot in 20 years when it was the GOP that wanted the health insurance mandate.

      • Typical liberal comeback. Did you copy and paste from Rachel Maddow's page? I'll give the left this....you dolts have your game plan down. The hypocrisy of your ilk has no bounds.

Of course I don't want to pay, but I am anyway. And do you think that's going to change? Half of my staff use the ER as their primary care option. Do you think these people are going to start doing things differently? Do me a favor....go hang out at a maternity ward for 2 days. Tell me how that's going to work in your Utopian society where everyone gets all the healthcare "they need". Until you and people that think like you start addressing the PROBLEM, instead of what a few dope smoking, government paid, Harvard educated professional students with ZERO real world experience, arrogant, dickfingered chowderheads think a few trillion and their brilliant ideas can fix, we're going to continue to worsen the problem instead of improving it.

Stop being part of the problem and actually address the problem. Admit there is a problem.

It looks like it was cheaper that way. Better to pass on a few bucks to those who use it than force people who don't need it and can't afford it into a system and make the rest of us pay for it that way. If you haven't noticed, rates are going up because of this. Doctors are leaving the field because of this. Which means longer waits because of this.

          Yup. Sounds great!

Bless you. The entire plan from day 1 has been to get to a single payer. Like most plans to fundamentally change the country of late, it's working out faster than they hoped. I fear there is no recovery.

And this is just the start. By the time my daughter retires, she'll have to petition a court to get the healthcare she needs, and she'll probably die waiting.

Things are so bad now, the left is defending a traitor's right to get to free (to him) gender redistribution or whatever the **** they call it. The sad thing is, in today's environment, I think they can win.....and so do they. This is the fight they can make....things have gotten that far out of hand. The fringiest of the fringe left can make this argument and it's not going to hurt the left. What has this country come to??

                • Will the Health-Care Law Help Small Businesses?
No: It Will Make It Harder for Small Firms to Grow

Nearly half of small-business owners believe that the Affordable Care Act will hurt their business, according to a recent Gallup poll.

The evidence strongly suggests that they’re correct.

Let’s start with the most obvious and onerous mandate: Companies with 50 or more workers must provide insurance or pay a fine. That has an immediate effect—raising the cost of employing workers without delivering any benefit.

It also has a long-term effect on the plans of smaller firms and on the economy. Most small companies aspire to become bigger companies. Now the cost has been increased significantly.
“There’s a long list of groups that will suffer under the new law: taxpayers, health-care providers and patients. Near the top are small businesses.”
Suppose that a firm with 49 employees does not provide health benefits. Hiring one more worker will trigger a penalty of $2,000 for every worker after the first 30. If you were that small-business owner with 49 employees, how fast would you run out to hire that 50th worker?

In fact, according to the Gallup poll, 41% of small businesses said they have already held off on plans to hire new employees, and 38% said they’ve pulled back on plans to expand in other ways. Worse, 11% indicate that they’ve laid off workers or cut back their hours.

                  • Is there an alternate healthcare plan if ObamaCare was to go away? Or do we go back to the way it was? I'm just curious if there is. I haven't heard anything.

I know the tea party would just as soon let the uninsured die if their response at one of the Republican debates was any indication.

This is why there can't be real debate. Put forth realistic solutions, and you want people to die.

                        • This made me laugh a bit. AFL-CIO calls ObamaCare 'highly disruptive' to union health plans. They still support the "goal" of ObamaCare to bring down costs and cover more/all Americans. So they really don't support ObamaCare but they're trying to be nice to their Democratic leaders. I think we all support a way to bring down costs, but I think a lot of us noticed that this wasn't going to happen under this plan.

                          • The Tax for not having health insurance under ObamaCare is a hell of a lot cheaper than paying for it. Some interesting thoughts from some people in an article over at CNN.

                            • One man's ObamaCare nightmare
It had stunning news. Insurance for the Mangiones and their two boys, which they bought on the individual market, was going to almost triple in 2014 --- from $333 a month to $965.

The insurance carrier made it clear the increase was in order to be compliant with the new health care law.

"This isn't a Cadillac plan, this isn't even a silver plan," Mangione said, referring to higher levels of coverage under ObamaCare.

"This is a high deductible plan where I'm assuming a lot of risk for my health insurance for my family. And nothing has changed, our boys are healthy-- they're young --my wife is healthy. I'm healthy, nothing in our medical history has changed to warrant a tripling of our premiums.
