    50 million school aged children
22 million of them receive free or reduced price school lunches
    ---
8 million students live in homes below the poverty line.

This is some of what taxes should be going to, but instead we nickle and dime our tax dollars with things like anthropogenic global warming and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion distractions. Roads, border fences, bridge repairs, etc. ... conservatives believe in investing in those things. e.g. Trump proposed a $1.5T infrastructure bill compared with Biden's $1.2T bill -- similar desire.
These numbers, along with the dollars spent per student, do not get enough coverage.

Saying it's a colossal failure isn't even fair. It's so much worse.

Are there some good teachers out there in public education? Of course there are. But they are the minority and they are in no way, shape or form indicative of the massive failure of our children in the public school system for decades. It's basically been a money grab, fraught with corruption, that has ignored the needs of our children. The department of Education doesn't needs adjustments, it needs complete dismantling. How could things get any worse?

Kamala is an effective speaker though.

Here's the traditional Democrat attack ad that describes what you're saying about Republicans (there used to be Democrats too who didn't like to spend trillions of tax dollars). What is it that we need to learn?

With pretty boy Paul Ryan's draconian and savage cuts to Medicare in his budget proposal, we have to ask ourselves: Is America still beautiful without Medica...

Here's the result of doing what Kamala wants to spend on, and this isn't talking about the 24% inflation that Biden-Harris have caused through spending and printing money to pay for the spending.. This is going to become even more damaging if not held in check soon. There won't be any money left.

I don't assume that at all. First the biggest part of the money goes to the government infrastructure to run their programs, funding facilities, employees, and their 20 yr retirement programs. Next biggest part is overpaying for the goods and service, in order to get kickbacks to their political party and sometimes personal kickbacks. The rest goes to the actual cause.
Have you ever seen a well run government program that uses the money wisely?
Dems like these government run giveaways because they can dip their hands into the funding. Whereas Republicans try to create opportunities for the poor so that they can support themselves.
Open your eyes man. Biden, Clinton's and Obama enriched their families while "serving the public" ( which is laughable, because they serve themselves first). Bushes and Trump created their wealth in the private sectors.

I mean... the second you make a threat like this the Taliban leader will move his family. Strategically it would be around 3rd grade level bravado. That being said, just the hutzpah of it in the face of the terrorists is appealing to watch.

America doesn't normally tell the enemy how or when they are gonna get hit. That kind of defeats the entire purpose of the military exercise.

There was a part in it I found interesting. Just located the clip on Youtube.

    Tell me what you think.

First off: The entire free world has the luxury of resting inside the blanket of our military superiority. This is something they don't have to budget for. By like I mentioned elsewhere, we do have advantages being the world's police and having our currency as the world's reserve (which may go hand in hand).

But the itemization of tax receipts.......

Can anybody comment on the video? Particularly the last part where the French have itemized pay stubs showing where each tax dollar is going? Wouldn't that be nice in the States?

We throw more dollars at education than any other country in the world, for a sub-standard education. Poor kids already get free meals (not just lunch, and not just during the school year)

Well, who knows what the figures are now. If I believed that our taxes were going to help the poor and that's it, I wouldn't care so much. If I could be convinced that our money was being cared for by benevolent stewards doing the Lord's work, I wouldn't care so much. If I was convinced that our tax dollars weren't being used as a money laundering operation, paying off donors and self sustaining a bloated bureacracy of federal employees who are more and more interested in themselves than looking out for it's citizens, I wouldn't care so much. If we weren't 30 trillion in debt, I wouldn't care so much....

    Ya know what I mean?

I just don't think the federal government has earned the trust to ask for more right now.
