  • Sorry, she came across as the DOFO of politics. Were you an unabashed defender of DOFO on the sports boards as well? I don't recall anyone defending his thoughts.

I try to stay out of these pizzing matches, but come on she was out there.

She did not leave or "get run off" because of @WuDrWu: or @MoValley John:. She reached out to us and left for a very specific reason that would not be appropriate to discuss publicly.

No doubt, but I think there are times when people need to be cut a little slack. I was trying to help her along, no doubt she was stubborn, I tried to explain some of the hard lessons I myself have learned on this board, but she did not want to listen. In a way, she was her own worst enemy.

I also want to thank @Kung Wu: for his explanation. It was a very good explanation, and reflective of the facts. Not only did it do that, but it also covered the subject while preserving her privacy (and makes it look like I may not have been totally correct).

I will also need to be cutting back on my posting very soon, as I have taken a new job with a really, really large financial services firm in Dallas. After losing my job (and my father) very recently, I am looking forward to a new chapter in my life. I will continue to post from time to time, I just feel I need to focus on this new opportunity so that I can establish myself and take this opportunity to extend my retirement a little (I like my clothes and European vacations too much to retire right now). With everything that has happened, I am looking forward to the changes I will be making, it will make my life interesting and challenging. An opportunity to recharge my batteries and learn.

Not only that, I will STILL get to see the Shockers when they roll into Ford Coliseum, so there's that, too.

But don't worry, you will still see me posting here from time to time.

I wish I had that power, I don't. She did herself in, she knows it. She posted every three, four minutes, as an obsession. Seemed almost unstable. She was giving updates of the CNN feed faster than CNN could generate material.

She burned up and flamed out because she couldn't keep up with her own inconsistencies.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

          • I will miss seskride. I also tried to point out why her reasoning/logic weren't coherent, but that's hard criticism to take from someone you've never met. I enjoyed her passion, despite the fact that I didn't understand it. She also used the term "circle jerk" in an appropriately hilarious way.

                Thanks!

You will still hear from me from time to time, it's just I have a whole lot to learn. I need to stay focused. I also want to get some additional certifications, so if I retire at 68 or so, I can do some consulting for a few years (I have a real good CISSP video review course someone gave me at the tech company).

I'm hoping I can go to Barcelona this year, my g/f's nephew is studying sports management (he wants to be an agent). Like most of my g/f's family, he got out of Venezuela, was a thought leader in that country. He's a sharp young man and his goal is to represent soccer players when they're negotiating their contracts.

Such a shame the country is having a brain drain, but if you REALLY want to look at a socialist, just take a look at Nicholas Maduro.

Having seen this up close, it will take them generations to replace the intellectual knowledge that has been lost.

My favorite was when she would call me "Dude"

I've never known a woman to call someone dude. I liked it. Kinda the Shockernet stoner psychologist.

We are going back to Italy in March. I want to spend more time (and look for retirement property) in Assisi.

I never understood her far left views, but I liked her anyway. Always tried to envision what she looked like. Was she a hottie, a fattie or something in between? She can't be all bad, she "liked" some of my memes.

She is good looking if it's who I think it is. :) not that it's any of our business though...but if she lurks, maybe she would enjoy the compliment.

                        • If Hillary had won the election, her campaign would be getting the same scrutiny as Trump's. That's part of the price of winning. It's been said to Hillary supporters, "You lost, get over it". It needs to be said to Trump supporters, "You won, deal with it".

                            • Hillary's campaign would only be getting the same scrutiny in a dream world. No one from CBS News, ABC News, NBC News, MSNBC, or CNN would give a rat's ass about her shady e-mails. Let's get real here.

                              • I want to make sure I understand the controversy.

Trump's crime is that his campaign manager accepted a meeting to determine whether there was credible evidence of Hillary committing illegal activity in collusion with the Russians? Is that correct?
