I think people who don't really care either way are more likely to say, "well, that was a waste of time" and blame the Republicans for putting on a show. It is the reality you face when making a big accusation. If you don't make a strong case, people who claim to be neutral on the issue get a negative feeling about you "crying wolf", so to speak.
Yes, the house republicans were clearly operating in the high risk/high reward quadrant. But why go in there without an effective strategy? They seemed unfocused and inconsistent. And that's because outside of hauling her sorry butt into a hearing, they had NO plan.

Well - they have been doing it this way for the last decade, so why would anything change. I think you are under the false impression that the republicans are different than the democrats - they really aren't. It all a big charade, grand theatre.

The best way I've heard it said is that all politicians screw you. Republicans just screw you a little less.

If it makes you feel better, pin, I don't like her either. Unfortunately, the subcommittee's republicans didn't have a strategy, but the dems did. They criticized the process as a waste of time and money. They exhibited a units front. They had a strategy and executed.

You don't need to be right if you have a strategy and make your people stick to it. Trey Gowdy should have had a plan and/or objectives that were simple and easy to execute. He didn't
