This probably deserves its own thread. Does the Republican Party splinter? Conservatism does not mean the same thing to all Conservatives. I propose that the democrats could win the day. Democrats could take over the Senate. Obama and his liberal policies could very well continue. CAIR could win. Liberal immigration policies could continue. The economic malaise could continue. Hillary could win. Levin, Beck, Limbaugh, etc. could well incite and then lose? or do they win no matter what?

What was once an uneasy alliance between Tea Partiers and Republican loyalists is increasingly marked by hostility—and many on the right now want a divorce.

This comment probably sums up the problems with the GOP.

Some establishmentarians worry the Tea Partiers are already blithely driving the GOP into the ground. “I don’t think they care about the party. I think they care about issues and philosophies,”

Americans elect their officials not to be faithful soldiers for the party, but to go to Washington and to represent the voters views on the "issue and philosophies". It is the GOP party that doesn't care about their constituents.

I don't care about the "establishment". I only care about the country. Some people show their lack of understanding on how democratic government works. I think that our country has really gone off of the rails the past eight years under democratic leadership. Governments are made up of coalitions. I don't care about the establishment, and I don't agree with everything that the tea party crowd does. I know mostly Republicans and none of them believe in all that the Tea Party does but they do with some of it. If people want to make a difference, they have to be a part of the WINNING COALITION. If you don't want to form a winning coalition, the other side wins. Instead of getting some of what you want, you get nothing. This is what has happened the last eight years with Obama care, an economy that is stagnant, rampant immigration and border problems, Benghazi, you name it. If the Republican Party dies, something new will take it's place. But if the Tea Party thinks that they can make the changes in the Federal and most state governments, they are mistaken. There are not enough of them to win these elections. The Senate will go Democrat and so will the Presidency.

The answer is that we get the government that we deserve.

Just saw this headline on Drudgereport, but didn't read the article:
                      "REUTERS 5-DAY ROLLING: TRUMP 30.6%, CRUZ 16.7%, CARSON 12.7%, RUBIO 8.4%... MORE..."

That would mean if 100% of Cruz' + Carson's + Rubio's votes combined to a single candidate, they would be winning by a 7.2% margin. And that's if 100% of those voters were anti-Trump (which obviously they aren't). I wonder what SB's polls are showing?

                        1. Interesting there were some who thought Rubio would surge after the last debate - but it Cruz surging and Rubio support flat.
                        2. Carson has collapsed
                        3. Christie has a little life, not much, but a little (at least in NH)
                        4. I think the polls are underestimating support to Trump. Actually if you dig into the polls, Trump is liked a lot more than mainstream press wants to admit. I think it kind of the Putin and NASCAR effect.

Bush and Carson need to do the honorable thing and pull the cord on their life support unit. Well I guess it makes no difference, they're votes have pretty much already gone elsewhere. Christie probably needs to do the same but he's far more entertaining (and likable).

It's interesting on those graphs how much tighter the plot points for Rubio are compared to Trump and Cruz. Not sure what can be extracted from that, other than Rubio polls more consistently across the different poll metrics.

Just continue that thought- Mr. T is more polarizing, Cruz is somewhat polarizing, and Rubio is not polarizing at all. The more polarizing a candidate is the more scattered they poll because you might hit pockets of pro- or anti- people.
