I'm not 100% sure why, but right now I think Rubio is the only one who has a chance to dance that difficult line between winning the primaries and nomination, and then being successful in a general election.
Though it won't happen because one person isn't running and I don't think the other will get nominated, having the two final candidates be Carly Fiorina and Elizabeth Warren would be fascinating.

I agree, Rubio is the most conservative of the Establishment and very electable in a general election.
His immigration solutions bother me, and Republicans in general really need to dial back on the Military Industrial Complex, but I would be ok with Rubio.
I would more likely vote for Rand Paul or Ted Cruz as Walker has seemed to turn into Rick Perry of 4 years ago.
And I don't care who you are, you should have Carli Fiorina as your running mate if she doesn't pull this thing out.

Carly Fiorina won last night imo. She reminds me of The Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher.
I don't think she won. There are people who wanted her to win and may push that she did win.
Bottom-line is I come to this - was HP a better company for her leadership? The answer is clearly NO. Had she helped HP navigate the tech bubble and acquisitions and showed she had some special leadership skills - then maybe there is something there. But she didn't. I have not seen anything that speaks presidential - plus her name is hard to pronounce.
It frustrates me that so much of the red meat revolves around social issues which are proven losers.
Secure the borders? You bet, it's almost an inarguable point...specifics on methods for securing it are glossed over quickly though since it's, ummmm, tricky and expensive. It is way more fun to talk about absurdities like blanket deportation and tweaking the 14th amendment and/or case law to eliminate birthright citizenship. That is exactly the kind of pandering that serves to further alienate a large and incredibly fast-growing demographic in purple states. What purpose does lobbing that grenade serve since it is 100% impracticable? Even if your favored candidate did not insert foot in mouth on this issue, the brand continues to suffer when it is handled in this fashion.
Kim Davis? Terrific, if only this were 2002. The GOP has been proven to be on the losing side on this issue and as the older generation continues to pass on, the gap on it will only continue to widen. Pandering to old folks with a foot in the grave seems like a poor investment here since it's almost never single-issue determinant for that age group (unlike say, social security).
John Roberts? Are you serious? That was embarrassing.
Vaccines? In what universe does Carson not go full HULK MODE on Trump when he has the gall to disagree with Carson on this? If his goal was to stay out of the fray and not engage (which I think it was), then he did a mostly fine but snoozeworthy job. But my goodness, do not lend credibility to that kind of crap by refusing to stamp it out emphatically. He should have ripped Trump's spine out a la Predator vs. Carl Weathers right then and there for the world to see. Play your ace of spades doctor.
There are supremely winning arguments to be made on corporate income tax rates, personal income tax rates, foreign policy in SO many areas (touched on many times in an inarticulate way by most, although not all), etc. where the general population absolutely agrees with the republican platform. Hammer on that stuff please! Quit playing the race to the right with completely untenable positions on issues that reinforce the public perception of a party of old white dudes scared of ceding status.

Fiorina is a good Italian name! Seriously, though, HP lost 30K jobs during her 6 years. The stock went up 9 points the day she was canned.
At Lucent she lent a bunch of people buying fiber a bunch of money, including selling about a billion and a half dollars in fiber cable on credit to a company that had about $100 million in sales and an 8:1 debt to equity ratio.
Before she became the controversial CEO of HP, Senate candidate Carly Fiorina was a star at Lucent. What does her time at the telecom disaster say about her?
HP paid her $65 million up front to pay for her Lucent bonuses and management compensation when she left them and another $21 million when she was fired from HP.
By my math, that's $86 million to run two companies into the ground. Sure wish I could get a gig like that.

Trump is a master at making outrageous statements before reeling it in to take a more reasonable position. It back-fired with Fiorina, who played that marvelously, IMO. I think Carson recognized the trap and steered clear of it with the vaccinations question. Plus, he took a position that was probably palatable to the anti-vaxxers without sounding like one.

Rubio was the best talker. He scares the h out of me as did a few others. Way to hawkest for my taste. I hear a lot of Miami Cubans like him. Not so much here in Key West.

Good rant! Why didn't Carlson mention that the Autism rate went up the same year that the diagnosis criteria for Autism was greatly broadened to include "odd" behavior as Autism? Prior to that year (1981?) Autism was full on retarded (pardon the lack of PC). That same year the MMR vaccine was introduced. Pure case of correlation, not causation, and the American people deserved to hear it.
