It interesting - it was Bob Dole who first realized that Roberts was in trouble as he was doing his own tour of Kansas and alerted the Republican Party they might have a problem. In 2013 the NRSC met with Roberts and Roberts told them "he knew Kansas better than anyone and would not be taking advice from the party’s whippersnappers."
By late October, Roberts’s sagging poll numbers improved. Still, Dole called Bliss regularly to bark at the young manager. “Damn it,” Dole would say, “put more signs on Route 81.” On Halloween, Dole told Bliss to issue a provocative press release about Orman’s “Democratic costume.”

Finally, the knee Jerk liberals will be back on the politics forum! It doesn't matter the topic, here come the daily talking points and character assassinations! That is what liberals do best! They make horrible conversation when their peeps are in charge, but they can attack the "establishment" like barbarians! Liberals are protesters by nature, not leaders. They are flag burning, dope smoking, victims that can only protest. Now this forum will get fun again. I look forward to reading the liberal rants all over again. Its hard to protest and ***** when you control the Oval Office and half of the Congress, now you can complain! We've missed you guys! There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I had other things going on tonight, so I'm just now getting caught up, so I'll chime in with a bunch of thoughts.
1) Orman proved to be just too sleazy. He ended up having more baggage than a redcap trailing after the Kardashian family.
2) In a way, I'm glad to see Brownback re-elected. Just one way. I want to see him figure out a way to bail the State out of the financial mess he created. In the next 4 years the KanCare bill will come due, and the renewal cost is going to be ginormous. Probably WAY more than the state was spending before privatization. I expect some mid-term budget cuts and I fear the judiciary will get hit with furloughs and shutdowns - that was happening before the last round of budget cuts.
3) MVJ posted a pic of a moving van in a post he addressed to me. Due to unfortunate circumstances that I had no ability to control, I ended up being a person with no income. I had the resources to carry me through that. In fact, I refused unemployment because I didn't want to take money that way. I could have kept my season tickets if I had taken the unemployment money.
When taxes on "small" corporations were eliminated and a sales tax that was set to expire was continued, my taxes went up. In what world is raising taxes for people with no income acceptable as a way to reduce taxes for typically wealthy people? The government of Kansas is encouraging me to go away. The current administration in Kansas is really pissing off a guy down on his luck.
Once my mother (94) leaves this earth I change from a pissed off poor guy to a pissed off guy with plenty of money to relocate. The only thing I expect from the government is Medicare, which I paid into for 40 years and my wife paid into for 35. I'm leaning toward a non-Health Compact state and a location with 5 golf courses, 7 lakes (5 are "no-wake" and all are resident fishing only), good scenery, cooler summers, warmer winters, and similar cost of living and housing to Wichita. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Feels good to have the adults in charge for at least another 2 years.
I'm guessing the party's over for Obama. It'll be interesting to see how long the media continues to ignore his scandals."Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should accomplish with your ability."
