Professors harassing students

Has anyone had to deal with this? I have a socialist professor that gets off on harassing conservative students, mainly me, and berating them to the point of completely leaving the lecture structure to bait and draw out political responses.
Tuesday it was socialism. Told everyone they were socialist if they had student loans or a public education. Later in the class I asked him if he liked making money. He said he didn't make enough. I told him by his thinking he was a capitalist. He got pissed and targeted me, as if my NRA hat didn't already put a target on me. Today it was second amendment rights. Said guns killed people. I said that 9 on my bedside table hasn't killed me yet. Told me I would kill myself.
Anybody else dealt with professors like this?

I would think telling a student that he's going to kill himself would be grounds for some sort of punishment.

I had a philosophy prof who would argue with me about aspects of Christianity. He had the usual liberal snob stench. And while I got the impression he looked down on me for my views, he didn't outright target me in class like your prof is doing.

My advice would be to keep a journal of all the crap he's doing. If you ever get the sense he's holding you to a different grading standard or going out of his way to humiliate you in class because your views differ from his, you have ammo to take to the college dean and the dean of student affairs. Maybe even ask some fellow students if they would be willing to back you up.

Tenured, yes. Atheist, supposedly does the same thing with religion. Haven't seen it yet.

I never had any problems with any of the professors when I went to WSU. Maybe things have changed since then. It's been a while. But then I never tried to give away any of my views by what I wore since my views never had anything to do with what I was in class for. I did have one or two classes on religion, but never had any problems in those classes either, mainly because no one knew where I stood on different religious views.

When I went to WSU (and WSU had ROTC) - the liberal profs would try to torment us (when you have to wear BDU's to class - it kind of out's you). It has been my experience Liberals demand tolerance for their views but are very intolerant against anything that goes against theirs.

On the plus side, the university President promptly got in touch with me and is aware of the situation.
