I think we'd have to see serious discord and dissent in the military ranks, especially considering even the National Guard is under the federal umbrella. Without dissent, one side would have all the military assets. And we all know if you try to build up an arsenal, the feds will come in, kill everyone who resists and burn everything to the ground.
Honestly, if things keep getting more and more chaotic, I believe a number of military leaders and personnel would revolt as well. This isn't something just around the corner, but I won't rule it out down the road. Hell, a lot of individual states are getting fed up and I could see a unifying effort among a number of them creating some form of resistance. It's hard to say as we'll have to see how things take shape. I honestly believe things will be taken care of before it reaches that point, but if it's not, there will be some form of revolt, even if violent. We're headed into the realm of what the original founders fought to free themselves from.

I also believe that a lot of military personnel that wouldn't necessarily side with these rebels or whatever, would have a hard time killing Americans.

Back to proving that Obama is throwing a childish fit, how about closing down the National Mall to WWII vets, but opening it up for an ILLEGAL Immigration rally.

Unfettered control. Things we be so bloody awful then we can finally rid our society of the liberal socialist left and try to reboot. I'm not sure there is another fix at this point.

'Just disgusting': Outrage after shutdown delays payment for families of fallen

In what veterans call an outrageous slight after the ultimate sacrifice, the shuttered federal government is withholding a $100,000 payment normally wired to relatives of fallen soldiers — including the families of five killed in Afghanistan over the weekend.

The payment, known as the death gratuity, is typically sent to families of the fallen within three days to help them cover funeral costs or travel to meet the flag-draped coffins of their loved ones.

The families of five American service members killed over the weekend in Afghanistan have been notified that they will not receive the payment. A relative of one of the five called it “devastating.”

There's no reason for that not to be paid.

On another note, I did see a quote from Obama today that essentially said that he won't negotiate with Republicans until the gov't is fully funded and the debt limit raised. I don't think he understands what negotiate means.

In 2007 Bush wanted a clean bill for war funding without a specific timeline for troop withdrawal being imposed by Congress.

Here was Senator Pelosi's response then:

"What the president invited us to do is to come to his office so that we could accept, without any discussion, the bill that he wants," Pelosi said. "That's not worthy of the concerns of the American people. And I join with Sen. Reid in rejecting an invitation of that kind.
                  And Reid's comments:

[The president] has to deal with Congress. We are an independent branch of this government, and by our Constitution we have equal say that he has. And he’s got to listen to us. Because we are speaking for the American people; he isn’t."
                  ... and ...

Today, Reid said: "He wants to go down there and say, ‘I want a clean bill.’ That’s not negotiating. I mean, I am — prided myself on being a pretty good lawyer, trial lawyer. I’ve settled lots and lots of cases. But you never settle a case going in saying, ‘You can come and meet with me, but here’s what the result’s going to be before we meet.’ That doesn’t work. And the president has to realize it doesn’t work in the practice of law, it doesn’t work in the business world and it doesn’t work in government."

It's not like the Democrats haven't tried to get the Republicans to negotiate the budget. Here are 19 times since this spring that they requested unanimous consent to go to conference and 19 times the request was blocked by a Republican senator with the latest being just about a week ago.

Isn't that how you buy a car? Sign all the papers then negotiate the price? Obviously you don't shop at Obama Automart.

When you do buy a car and the first payment comes what you dont do is say I am not paying until we renegotiate the purchase price. Pay your bills!

It’s generally been recognized that it would be irrational for Congress to refuse to raise the debt ceiling when it is necessary to carry out legislation already enacted by the same Congress.

Thats great but its Congress that bought the car and now doesnt want to pay for it. Congress enacted the legislation for this debt , now pay for it.

Actually, Obama took the keys from the Republicans, they were in the back, remember?

The Democrats, singlehandedly, enacted the legislation in question. They still don't know how to negotiate. Democrats don't know how to play nice in the sandbox and Republicans are using their ONLY means to get them to the table.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.
