Richard Blumenthal complaining about Hegseth misspending in his charity and running a deficit is rich.

Blumenthal shakes so bad ....checks notes.....he's 78. I applaud and thank him for his Service in the Military. He's been in public office since graduating Harvard in the 70s. Somehow he's amassed a $100+ million wealth but is responsible for trillions and trillions of deficit spending. Being paid public salaries.....100 MILLION. But can't take enough of tax payer funds. As ShockerPrez this is just another political show. The Democrats know that their histrionics are not gong to change any confirmation votes to no. In fact, they have to know, or certainly should know, that it has just the opposite effect. So the show is simply for their voter base.

Trump doesn't want any "experts" working for him. He wants to be the smartest guy in the room. With the Hegseth pick, he's essentially putting a Ford dealership mechanic in the position of CEO. What could possibly go wrong?

I am just disappointed that we haven't had a few rape allegations from a high school party, or maybe even bringing up some woman from where Hegseth might have been deployed to say he had his way with her.

There are still a lot of cabinet appointee hearings to come, though. So maybe we'll see some before its all said and done.

My post is a little off-topic, but your comments generated some thoughts about the Kavanaugh hearing (which I'm assuming you were referencing), and how I feel about the allegations in light of my new UnPlugged thinking. Where there's smoke, there's likely fire would be the rational way to go about it. I'm guessing that Kavanaugh was a bit of a dirty bird, regardless if he participated in running a train on the old gal.

During the Kavanaugh trial I was FULLY indoctrinated, not marching one step until I'd received my orders from the Republican Party, or Faux Reality News. I took Trump's vote of approval as all I needed (I'm sure much like you all now). Of course Trump was eventually convicted of rape by a jury of his peers years later.... *ouch*

Bottom line? It pays to use YOUR brain in these matters and not someone else's.
