I think you're reading this situation totally wrong, and there probably is a certain amount of self-hatred involved.
Do you not think there are a small minority of Extreme Liberal people with Jewish heritage in America and the world? Most Jews, even in Nazi Germany, and other parts of Europe, who wouldn't speak out against the Nazi's until they were being arrested (rounded up into trucks) and heading to the Gas Chamber camps. They though that "Being Nice" would win out in the end, and the small, brave group of Christian friends who were willing to hide them would win in the end.
That will happen in this case too. Liberal Jews think that Biden (who seems to be more interested in saving his and Obama's Iran Nuclear deal) has the Jews backs this time, even though while he is supportive of Israel, it seems obvious to me that Biden would make a deal with Iran (and bow down to the world who doesn't back Israel), in a heart beat that isn't in Israel's best interests.
