Peggy Shannon - Ziegfeld girl to stage and screen in the late 20's through the 30's, she was groomed to be the heir apparent to Clara Bow as the "it" girl. From mid 1920's through 1940, she played in 12 Broadway productions and 37 films. Sometimes doing both at the same time. This brutal schedule (of her choosing) led her to drink. Only 34 years of age, it all became too much. From Wiki: "She was slumped over the kitchen table, a cigarette in her mouth and an empty glass in her hand. She had been dead for about 12 hours." Her husband was the one who found. Too much for him, three weeks later he shot himself sitting in the same chair.
