So do the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence do as much for AIDS as Sister Theresa did? They brag about all the money they raise, and at the same time ridicule the good works of causes that nuns do, yet they get media support from the LA Times, just because a media member’s daughter is gay? They can’t have it both ways. So make them all Saints, just like Sister Theresa will be.
I think the main thing everyone needs to remember is that people are neither good nor evil. People do individual acts of both good and of evil, but they are neither.

As a clarifier to those that may believe a nuanced world view is some how an an endorsement of these people, it is not. The Dodgers should not celebrate these people and no one should celebrate anyone’s sexuality or identity.

I do believe in “good and evil”, and disagree that no one is evil. There is evil and people in the world who are evil. I would agree that Bill Plaschke and his daughter are not evil, and I would disagree that “The Sisters of Indulgence” are not evil. They don’t believe in Jesus, or the Bible, and make a mockery of Jesus, and while on the surface help some people, they are harming people who are doing his ministry and works in his name.

If one is a Christian, and believes in the Bible, there is “sin”, and Not everyone one is going to heaven.

Actually, my reason for posting that was to verify that the 4-minute ceremony was done 1 hour before the game and almost no one was in the stands. Yet, another source (Baseball Reference) said that over 49,074 was the final attendance for the game. That meant many people must have waited to come into the stadium until after the "ceremony". I know from past experience that games that draw large crowds have a lot more people in the stands an hour before a game than this one did.

Actual attendance or Tickets purchased? Season ticket holders or people who purchased single game tickets could have not attended this game (perhaps outside protesters), especially Catholics who purchased tickets either way. The Royals always claim to have sold 20,000-30,000K tickets, and they rarely have butts in seats.

The attendance for this game was in the top half in dodger home games so far, this season. However, they were playing the Giants and it was a weekend game (Friday). So, yes and no. At best, they may have drawn around 4,000 more. I'd hang my hat on the fact that the stadium was nearly empty during the ceremony.

Looks like the pregame festivities left some bad juju on the field…

The following night was even worse. But the important thing is the Dodgers have Pride. They are no longer proud but they do have Pride.

On Saturday, Los Angeles didn’t come near redemption. They were shut out, 15 points to a big goose egg. The Dodgers have not suffered a fifteen-point shutout at home in the last 125 years, matching the 1898 franchise record.

                    What he said!

An “Old West” Texas analysis and summary of Mueller report and Congress’ efforts in one sentence:

"While we recognize that the subject did not actually steal any horses, he is obviously guilty of trying to resist being hanged for it."

Congress recognized May as National Military Appreciation Month in 1999.

There are 2 federal holidays dedicated to the military, Veterans day and Memorial day. Armed Forces day is also a recognized holiday. There are no federal holidays dedicated to LGBTQ that I'm aware of.

Every sporting event I can recall attending from the Wichita Thunder to NASCAR has recognized military members in attendance. I've never been on pride night, but I've never been at a game in which the LGBTQ community has been asked to stand for recognition.

Kansas City Royals Salute to Service: Every 2023 home game
Details: The Royals salute a member of the military at each home game, presenting them with 4 tickets and a special in-game tribute.

I'm all for more recognition of our service members, but I think you've got some blinders on if you think the LGBTQ community gets more recognition in the US than our service members.

Thanks for this. I believe it’s important that when we ***** and moan that we do it with facts, otherwise it just undermines the point (which can still be made).

Weird, how come I have never heard of this?

Here's a fact. Media carries out the celebration and glamorization of queers and other sexual deviates way more than they do veterans. Just because they declare a national holiday or recognition month means little without media stating those facts.

Where is this LGBTQ+ community anyway? I've only seen a scattering of queers and weirdos throughout masses of people in any community.

When do we get a Straight Pride month or Christian pride month?

I don't mind the little queers, weirdos and freaks running around amongst us, I have always treated them respectfully or I ignore them. But when they push their crap down my kids and grandkids throats, It's time to go to war.

                              • We should stop with all the "months" and "weeks". It completely devalues whatever it is you want to celebrate.
