  • February 6, 2020 - Xi tells Trump about Covid
February 7, 2020 - Trump tells Woodward the virus is 5x as deadly as flu and spread through air
February 20, 2020 - Trump holds a massive rally in Colorado Springs. No masks, No social distancing. No mitigation.
February 29 - March 1 - Bridge tournament in Colorado Springs resulted in about a 2% death rate of anyone who attended the tournament (5 people died), Then all the attendees that came from outside of CO Springs went back to their home towns. That probably contributed to CO becoming a CV hot spot. Bridge players tend to be older, but that doesn't mean their deaths don't matter because they would have died sooner or later any way.

The deaths were not in the time frame of the tournament, but they all had the common denominator of having been at the tournament.

In the 4 weeks after Trump knew that CV was spread through air, he held 6 massive rallies. I just happen to know the death count following one of his rallies because I was involved in the community that saw the death count following his rally.

At least you didn't blame the riots on your President. Yet...

On January 17, the CDC announced that 3 airports in the United States would begin screening incoming passengers from China: SFO, JFK, and LAX

As of Jan. 31, the Wuhan coronavirus is officially a public health emergency in the United States, Alex Azar, secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced at a White House press briefing.

That has been effective in countries where it has been done. Expressing that idea here has been met with ridicule and derision.

Now it cannot be denied that Trump knew the dangers and did not relate them to us. In late January he was told that the virus could be the most serious threat to national security in his Presidency. He didn't deny being told that, but he didn't remember being told about a serious threat to national security.

In early February he had a phone call with Xi Jinping. After that phone call, he told Woodward that the virus was deadly, it was spread through air, and that it was at least 5 times as deadly as a strenuous flu.

All of that is a total contradiction to what he said publicly and what people relied on in their response to the pandemic.

Trump knew the danger the virus posed, but refused to tell others. 5 weeks after he told Woodward about the dangers of the virus, Trump made his "I take no responsibility" statement. Then he turned responsibility for handling the crisis to the governors, who he had intentionally given inaccurate information for at least 5 weeks.

I'm aware that no matter what Trump does, his supporters will remain loyal. Lying to the public about a national security issue that we could resolve within our borders should not be acceptable in our country. Turning over the responsibility to intentionally misinformed governors when the President had accurate information should not be allowed in our nation.

I anticipate at least 10 comments attacking my position and supporting our President lying to us, which resulted in a disastrous national reaction to a crisis and a death toll approaching 200,000 and increasing at around 1,000 a day.

I just have this crazy notion that the first responsibility of a President is the safety of the American people, and that should take priority over the re-election prospects of the President.
Political stuff in a political forum? Crazy stuff.

Glad you’re practicing what you preach.

              • What most Never Trumpers and MSM don't understand about most Trump supporters, is that it's not that they support Trump so strongly as it is that they support the ESTABLISHMENT and SWAMP much less.

Yes I think his policies are overall good for our Democracy/Republic. But more than I support Trump as a person (I really don't support him as a person at all), I think that the Establishment, MSM, and Democrats are in this together and more (not all of that group) of that group could care less about our country, and in fact some (and it's growing) are enemies of our country.

I could be wrong, but I think most of Trump's supporters are of that belief than they are sold on Trump. Enough of the Republicans are still not TOTAL supporters of Trump and there is no way he can change much of consequence and I really don't even care if we have divided government this time around. My concern is more in the possibility of a Democrat Senate with Biden as President, the liberal leanings of the Democrat Party could put us on a path toward growing welfare, Socialism (with Health Care for ALL including ILLEGAL ALIENS), HIGHER TAXES for ALL, MORE OPEN BORDERS,
and less police and more crime.

This is where I think a lot of Trump supporters fall, and people like Aargh, BOBB, and the MSM don't know or care.

                          Fair reply, btw

                          How about this:

I'm aware there are people on the Democratic party who want to veer this country toward something near Maoism. They represent more of a fringe than those in the Republican party who want to push this country in an authoritarian fascist direction. Where did all the small government conservatives go?

As far as higher taxes go, did anybody here really see an effective tax cut when it was all said and done? I sure as **** didn't. We saw the benefit of the corporate tax rate in the calculations of future earnings dcf models juicing stock prices, that will go away, though there is little evidence that earnings or anything rational is driving valuations today.

Have you been watching anything in the news at all?? "fringe group"? I have seen more far far far left groups, politicians, and organizations (Warren, Sanders, BLM, Antifa, AOC and the squad, etc...) with major influence on the democratic agenda than I have any sort of "authoritarian fascism" on the right. Not even close!

This is why you will vote for Trump and I will vote for Biden. We see the risks differently.
