Those that take serious offense at this quote, aren’t doing so because they were offended at Trump’s lack of leadership, but because they want to blame things on Trump. That’s also got its own degree of bad.
I haven't seen a political leader talk like this since the 1960's.

BTW, since you think I'm trying to blame this on Trump, why do you think it is an appropriate leadership trait for him to say something like this and why do you think calling him out for his lack of leadership is its own degree of bad?

I'm just trying to figure out why you don't think that statement is appalling. I work hard for my stuff, I don't want to get robbed, and I think robbers and looters ought to be in jail, but don't you think someone who is educated and smart should handle this situation better than someone who is poor and uneducated (and using this as an excuse to steal, so I would bet most of them have had encounters with Law Enforcement)?

I don't believe educated and smart or poor and uneducated have much to do with common sense.

I don’t think this was an appropriate statement, as noted in my post, this is bad. I don’t think calling him out for saying bad things is wrong, I am just attributing motive to those that are “appalled”. If you are appalled, I am attributing motive to you. Maybe I’m wrong?

I hold the same standards of etiquette to those that are wealthy and educated as I do to those that are less fortunate. I would be appalled if president Trump was looting his neighborhood shops.

The President wasn't referring to looters when he said "when the looting starts, that's when the shooting starts," as in, it will be the looters, or a part of that crowd, who do the shooting? Because that's basically what happened last night. There were guns being fired. In Atlanta, and in Louisville, last night.

          He was advocating shooting looters?

I have zero doubt that’s what he was saying.

              You believe. No problem.

There's probably going to be some looting tonight, soon followed by some shooting. So it would be fair to say, in that case, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Just like last night.

Hate to be right about that one, but, we all know that's true.

cnn is probably real happy that the police were there to save 'em from those peaceful protesters.

Rough night. Thousands unemployed, tired of being shut in their homes, distraught by seeing a white police officer murder a black man. Only thing to do is impose a curfew and not enforce it.

More people might suffer and die during this crap than what Floyd endured. Nvm the fact that everything that is being destroyed and protested at are places that adamantly condemned the death.

With all of the masks now, it's difficult to differentiate who the antifa is but I would wager that antifa is involved in the acts that cross the line past demonstrating, and move on to destroying property, and looting in Minneapolis. They can't be reasoned with

Putin is sitting in the Kremlin a very, very happy man.

His coordinated effort to support Bernie and Trump as the two most divisive candidates, in order to tear America apart from within, has worked. Putin has won. We have lost.

Trump's dangerous rhetoric of suggesting banging arrestees heads on doors, of "back in the old days you could rough them up", of calling the press the enemy of the state, of suggesting that when white supremacists drive their cars into a crowd are "very good people", of gleefully fetishizing violence against protesters have lead to this point. If you can't see this, and you are the same damn people saying Obama's racial rhetoric was as damaging as this then you are are only seeing what's convenient for your narrative.

Four more years of Donald Trump will be ruinous for this country from a moral and leadership perspective. He needs to get the **** off of twitter and lead.
