Kaepernick taking a knee during the anthem to bring notice to police brutality was only camouflage. It is obvious now that he was protesting the flag and using the more acceptable police brutality angle as a ruse.

I’m lost. None of the articles or items you’ve posted have anything to do with Antifa.
-
The point I took from the mini-AOC meme is that the net effect of intimidation and threats is censorship. The goal of those tactics is to scare someone into shutting up.
-
Wufan woefully misinterpreted what I submitted. Not surprising considering his weak attempt at being cheeky in his earlier post contained in this thread. The one where he posted a photo of the kkk. He didn't mention fascism once. It appeared to be a misinformed leap (and not very funny either). But, whatever...
They proclaim to be "Anti Fascist," therefore, they must be against the forcible suppression of opposition, INCLUDING FREE SPEECH, which are considered to be "far right" tactics. See?
So how do they achieve this? By attacking someone because they disagreed with that persons' expression of free speech. That quantifiable action is in direct parallel to many other examples that go beyond just "antifa" it today's -ahem- political climate. There are numerous examples if one understands the principle involved. You read my point correctly RoyalShock.
Anyone else beside wufan see the hypocrisy?Last edited by ShockingButTrue; July 5, 2019, 03:25 PM.

RoyalShock, you are correct, but there is a conflation of ideas that negatively impact the overall argument. This thread was started about Antifa in Portland. Antifa in Portland is trying to intimidate their opposition violently.
The miniAOC harassment resulted in a type of censorship, but there is no evidence that it was Antifa or in Portland. Censorship also has a connotation of legal or systemic banning. That didn’t occur, and the more apt description, and more frightening, would be that leftists are intimidating families and children. I initially only wanted to point out this fact...that leftists are intimidating right wingers for political speech.
ShockingButTrue went on to explain his point by pointing out actual censorship by big tech and threatened censorship by a gov official as some kind of proof that Antifa is against free speech. Hence, we are lost in the weeds. The meme simply inadequately expresses the idea in this context.
If you tie it all together, what can be adequately stated is the following:
Leftists believe that people are inherently evil, and if they are not checked, they will do evil things.
Leftists (and Rightists, though no evidence is given here) have attributed malice to their opposition.
There is loose interpretation of “my enemies enemy is my friend” amongst the left, leading to varying degrees of aligning goals between leftists, progressives, communists, and anarchists.
All leftist parties discussed here to believe in what’s called, “a diversity of tactics.” They will support values that are contrary to America values as stated in the constitution, and likely their own values in some false narrative of a greater good.
Therefore; non-violent leftists are in favor of oppressing Republicans through corporate censorship, government censorship, private and public harassment, and violence.
If the government will not oppose the leftists that are attempting to violate god given rights, private citizen violence will escalate rapidly.

His another example of hypocrisy for you wufan:
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news...ry-force-way-/
See what the rally was about? Twitter and google are doing the same thing prepping for '20, and being just about as covert about it... You still don't get it?
It's the same thing they did in Portland, "defending" -ahem- free speech from fascists by beating a journalist's a**. Does that help? Can you get your mind around the rollicking irony (actually hypocrisy) of the whole thing? Really, sometimes it's just better to lighten up a little and laugh about the whole thing, eh wufan?
Aren't you the one who started this thread about the anti fascist's antics up in Portland last weekend?

Watch out for Portland to be a flashpoint in the country this weekend.
The Portland police chief and mayor gave warnings this week about the potential for violence between rival protest demonstrations on August 17 near the Portland Waterfront. "People intend to come to the city of Portland on the 17th explicitly to commit acts of violence," Mayor Ted Wheeler told KATU News in an interview for Your Voice, Your Vote. The main demonstration, according to a Facebook Event page, is being organized by a Florida resident to "End Domestic Terrorism.Livin the dream

"Dammit, we are anti facsist, and if you don't shutup and stop expressing your first amendment rights, we will dress up in black, jack boots with masks and kick your teeth in until you do as we say or die, you Nazi!""When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

There are some wildly delusional people out there demonstrating/acting out what was an obviously pre-existent symptom. Trump winning the election was just the snapping point.

I'm so disappointed in Oregon. For that to go on in America is a shame. It does nothing but embolden the darkest parts of the rest of the world. America was supposed to be a beacon of light. We literally have masked thugs taking over a city like they do in the Middle East.

Sentence #2 .... it's "right-wing extremists" vs "anti-fascist demonstrators". One is extreme, while the other is just demonstrating.
Now it may be true, it may be right-wing extremists and anti-fascist demonstrators marching -- but the damage done by the media by consistently labeling nearly all conservatives as "right-wing extremists", and labeling fascists as anti-fascists, has me instantly thinking that this article is just more bullshit, so I stopped reading. I don't even want to inform myself anymore, based on track record of the slanted sources.
If the country is becoming even more divided -- and it is -- the media and our schools are the weapons being used to do it.Last edited by Kung Wu; August 17, 2019, 02:19 PM.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

Everyone right of center is also prefaced at the very least with 'Controversial'. Eg. 'Controversial talk show host Rush Limbaugh'. Conservatives are always labeled as such. Leftists are not.
Rachel Maddow is not labeled as a leftist commentator, she is just a commentator, or even a journalist. But Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson are not commentators, they are conservative commentators.
