  • KC Chiefs - Week 17

Chiefs hook up in Denver with the Denver Broncos in the last week of the regular season.

Hopefully the Chiefs will be the only team playing for something (e.g. Donkeys will hopefully lose to Eagles in week 16 and be out of the playoff picture, meanwhile the Chiefs will be playing to keep their 4th overall pick safe in the draft.)

I love it. Every year it's all about draft position. But what have all those *top* draft picks gotten them?

      ... No really, deuces.

They are tied with TB in the 3rd slot, so I was just being conservative. I assume you did the strength of schedule calculation and KC has TB beat?

yup someone on a different chiefs message board did, and here what he came up with

            1 St. Louis 1-14 .531
            2 Detroit 2-13 .513
            3 Kansas City 3-12 .527
            4. Tampa Bay 3-12 .558

Atlanta (2-5 on the road) travels to Tampa Bay. TB has a much better chance of winning next week. Chicago (1-6 on the road) goes to Detroit. There is still a lot to play for.

It looks like the best KC can do is the 3rd overall pick. They just need to make sure they do not let the Denver game somehow slip away and win it and end up with something like the 5th or 6th overall pick.

                    wow this is pretty cool

Yesterday, I pointed out that a KCTV-5 news reporter told Chiefs head coach Todd Haley that someone had called into their station and told them that Haley had "helped him out" the day after Christmas.

Today, we find out what "helped him out" means via a KCTV-5 10 o'clock news segment.

The Chiefs coach was on his way to Arrowhead on the morning after Christmas. He takes the back route to the stadium so he was at an intersection at Blue Parkway and Hardesty.

A man was standing there waiting for the bus stop and, if you were in Kansas City over the weekend, you know how bitterly cold it must have been. Haley got out of his car, approached the man and said, 'Anyone standing at a bus stop the day after Christmas deserves this' and handed him a wad of $20 bills.

Haley said, 'Merry Christmas' and began to get into his car. The recipient of the gift was Brian Mondaine. His response to Haley, whom he immediately recognized?

                    "Thanks, coach."

Mondaine is the one that contacted KCTV-5 to tell his story.

"It's touching," Mondaine told the news station. "I just want to say thank you."

Just saw on ESPN, where they said Chiefs are likely to hire Romero Crennel as Defensive Cordinator for next season according to multiple sources. This would be a huge upgrade IMO

Crennel as D Cord, Weis as O Cord?

                            Are we becoming NE West?

If KC loses, I'll win $220 in my survivor pool.
If KC wins, it was a long 4 month waste.

It would be quite fitting for the Chefs to ruin my festivities.
