Not exactly a super easy schedule. I'll guess 6 wins next year.

What were the record of both teams in their first 6 games?

You can snip and clip at the stats you want to see, but when it comes down to it, the Broncos finished 8-8 and the Chiefs finished 4-12.
You can snip and clip any way you want but the Chiefs were a significantly better team on the football field yesterday than the Broncos.
And one game certainly doesn't make a season, unless you're a Chiefs fan, when yesterday was your "Super Bowl".
If I were a Bronco's fan I would be tearing my hair out. An epic collapse last year. Coach fired over it. New coach comes in and an epic collapse again this year. Plus Orton is now starting quarterback and Marshall is on his way out.

Chiefs were horrible. Hire new coach. Double win total from last year. Stomp division rival on their home field in last game and look forward to Pioli drafting with high picks.

At the end of the day, in the NFL, all that matters is the playoffs. Neither made it this year and I remain unconvinced that the Broncos will be their before the Chiefs.
If you're implying that I'm a Bronco fan, you couldn't be further from the truth, as previously stated.

Again, at least Denver's last 12 games mattered. After Week 4, Kansas City was playing for draft position and butterflies.

What Chief fans fail to see is that this was just one game. They were obviously more "up" for this one than any game the entire year. Have you people quickly forgotten the previous 15 games of beauty? Do people forget that this team got dropped by Cleveland on its home turf 2 weeks ago?

If you think last week's game was the "turning point", then more power to ya. If you think things are just gonna magically "switch" with basically the same personnel and system, believe it baby, believe it!

i disagree, to me its an extremely easy schedule with only 3 playoff teams on it. Im not gonna say right now, what my prediction is for wins, but it better be more than this year.

I was pissed the Chiefs won, they went from the 3rd pick overall to the 5th now. The Chiefs won because Denver has been in turmoil for some time now and it didn't help them that their two starting receivers were out.

However, I do understand that players are playing for their careers so I expect them to play tough. Even though the Chiefs had nothing to gain by the win, the individual players are playing for their jobs next season. Esepcially when they are on a team that is rebuilding.

For some reason I was thinking Seattle was better than they were this year. But still; Colts, Texans, Cards are for sure losses. Titans, Jags, 49ers are most likely losses. Chiefs could be anywhere 4-0 to 0-4 against the Bills, Seahawks, Rams and Browns.

KC 5th may be better than 3rd. You are more likely able to trade (Jets traded to the 5th or 6th pick to pick up QB) it if you want to get extra picks for trading down. You pay more for the top 3 picks so teams often don't want to be that high.

I understand your point. It very well may make no difference. Projections before the win had the Chiefs at third taking the Rutgers OT, new projections for the Chiefs at 5th still have them taking this OT. We all know they need to get that line squared away, but personally, I think they need to shore up the defense before focusing on the o-line.

But this team has so many holes that any pick will do them good. I'm just hoping this year's upcoming picks pan out, unlike the waste demonstrated by Dorsey and Jackson. If memory serves me, didn't their back-ups combine to have more sacks than these two combined? Embarassing.

If you are going to choose draft busts, Dorsey and Jackson are poor choices. In the first place, defensive ends in the 3-4 don't put up many stats, and by all accounts Jackson and Dorsey have done a good job locking up defenders. A 3-4 defense end is responsible for occupying defenders so that the linebackers can get penetration. The problem is that we haven't had an effective outside linebacker to pair with Hali. When Dorsey was down with injury, the Chiefs rush defense looked way worse than when he was playing.

On top of all that, there is so much technique to learn when playing in the trenches that it can take several years of NFL play before you can really tell who is a good lineman.
