I think we should name it the "Whine about President Obama because McCain didn't win" forum. :D
I'm not sure it's the McCain sour grapes that we are hearing. Rather it's the disappointment in the lack of duty that Obama is exhibiting. He unfortunately is picking off the low hanging cherries and taking credit for them, but has failed to meet any of the promises that he made during his campaign, and his uncanny ability to spend more money than the taxpayers have to give!
It's only been about 6 and a half months of a 4 year term too. This is one thing that is so wrong with our society. Most people expect such instant gratification. Trust me, it's gonna take alot longer than 6 months to correct the comedy of errors portrayed on this great country by GDub and his merry band of circus clowns.
I'm no fan of McCain either. It's more than obvious that he was, is and will be, the lesser of both evils.
Pelosi's memo to "control the message" and Obama's call for American citizens to shut up is simply over the top.
We don't need corporate jets when there is no money to pay for them!
We don't need to destroy good usable cars that used to be donated to charities for disadvantaged folks. It's a classic case of stupid, expensive government policy that harms the very people the Dems claim to support.
When a government seeks to limit basic human generosity and replaces it with overly-expensive, politically-driven, horribly inefficient welfare programs, it's just got to stop somewhere.
America is, overall, the greatest nation on the face of the earth. Why do we need to bypass the democratic process in order to drag this nation back to the pack? There is no evidence in history where these policies work long-term yet we are being told that we don't know what's good for us and that Obama is our Great Unifier and Great Deliverer.
I don't want "Change" that wrecks our society, our values, our justice and our Judeo-Christian foundation.

And in those six months he's tried to push more big gov't through than could have possibly been imagined. And he and his Congress throw much of it out there at the same time to keep America as off balance as possible so they can continue to increase gov't size/spending.
News Flash... GOV'T CAN'T SOLVE EVERYTHING AND WON'T/CAN'T FIX THE ECONOMY.
They need to stay the hell out of the way and let the system fix itself.
Don't bother trying to reason. There are still some right wing whack jobs that insist President Obama isn't even a US citizen.
Talk about reasoning and spin. Are you trying to compare my thought process with someone that doesn't think the President is a citizen?
1) Senator Obama said he wouldn't raise taxes on people making less than 250k. President Obama broke that promise. Spin it however you like, it doesn't change facts. I'm sure you think it was done in an effort to "do the right thing". How's it working out so far? You have a lot of poor people stop smoking since April 1?
2) I love the left. Right wing whack jobs? Can you name any one person of any prominence that touts this idea? How about, in an effort to be fair and balanced, we discuss the other side's attempts to propagate ideas such as 9-11 was an inside job or that Iraq didn't have WMDs?

So far President Obama has kept 34 of his promises while breaking 7 of them, so don't believe everything you hear or read.
So far, (in the 6.5 months being in office), Obama has only thrown a bucket of crap against the wall...Yes, some has stuck to the wall, but very little of it has improved the wall.
Can you give us a list of the 34 campaign promises that he has delivered on?

I agree with you on one thing, there are whackos on both sides for sure.
I'm no fan of McCain either. It's more than obvious that he was, is and will be, the lesser of both evils.
We agree to disagree on this one. In my mind, Obama/Biden was clearly the lesser of the two evils. It is sad that when you go to cast your vote, you have to vote for the person you feel will screw the country up lesser than the other one. I had no confidence in either candidates. When McCain chose Palin as his running mate, that was the nail in the coffin for me, with respect to him.
Back to the title of this thread…Recently I visited another fan message board and liked how they had separate forums for politics and off-topic threads (all other stuff if you will). I think that works well for those who might or might not be interested in the political discussion.
I like to check in on the off topic forum for a good laugh every day. It never fails to amuse me, even in my darkest of times.
I think it is important to remember both sides have valid points, and both sides have crazy people. We are not all that different, and we do have alot in common with eachother. It is that common ground that will bring forth good ideas for how to progress through these tough times.
