Ok, SFL, my initial reaction is to assume you're joking around by directing me to that. Good one.

How did I miss this thread?

That name is excellent, or how about...
"The copy and paste link after link after link after link after link after link after link after link after link after link after link after link after link about crap only 2 or 3 posters seem to care about forum"

Seriously, I know I've said it 1000 times, but this sour grapes shiat is getting extremely old. Let's move on, if you want to cry and talk this much politices, join a "Republicans with nothing better to do than post on message boards" forum.
        :good:
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

We don't need to destroy good usable cars that used to be donated to charities for disadvantaged folks. It's a classic case of stupid, expensive government policy that harms the very people the Dems claim to support.

There are plenty of affordable cars for sale in this country. Recycling 250,000 isn't going to deprive anyone of transportation.

When a government seeks to limit basic human generosity and replaces it with overly-expensive, politically-driven, horribly inefficient welfare programs, it's just got to stop somewhere.
Corporate welfare has ALWAYS dwarfed social welfare, if that's what you want to call affordable, accessible healthcare. And affordable, accessible health care doesn't have to mean socialized, universal health care. Conservative/Republicans have had 15 years to come up with better ideas, and they haven't done squat. Now instead of coming to the table with viable alternatives, they just want to shout down healthcare reform for another 15 years.

America is, overall, the greatest nation on the face of the earth. Why do we need to bypass the democratic process in order to drag this nation back to the pack? There is no evidence in history where these policies work long-term yet we are being told that we don't know what's good for us and that Obama is our Great Unifier and Great Deliverer.
You're kidding right, you think organized rallies paid for by Koch Industries to shout down intelligent debate is not bypassing the democratic process?

I don't want "Change" that wrecks our society, our values, our justice and our Judeo-Christian foundation.
Jesus would slap you right into eternity if he saw America's version of Judeo-Christian values...

The "Off-Topic" forum should be renamed and removed to "Off-Shockernet".

It's only a matter of time before someone associated with the board does or says something that the University cannot tolerate and they send a Cease and Desist Order banning the use of any official school mascots/names, representations, etc...

Really, I'm a hypocrite? Please count how many "complaint" posts I had about Bush on Shockernet during his 8 years in office. Or how many ridiculous Bush threads where on here over the last 8 years. I didn't pollute Shockernet, with political garbage like many of you have chosen to do over the last year. Sure there was the occasional post poking fun at Bush, such as his "Mission Accomplished" speech and so on, but NOTHING like we're seeing from cry baby conservatives. You guys have taken Sour Grapes to a whole new level.

Yes, I haven't seen you chastising your moonbat friends from their constant whining that continues to this day.

Yeah, your so pure and clean  Liberals never flooded shockernet with worthless threads. There never was whining about Bush on Shockernet or in the nation.

It's ironic to hear the democrats with the other shoe on the foot and complain that the whining is undermining the current leftist regime.

I enjoy reading well thought out arguments made by people with whom I might disagree. The problem is I rarely encounter such arguments on this forum.

If you think someone has made a poor argument, then say so and explain your reasoning. Resorting to silly retorts such as: “It is just sour grapes”; “We won”; “You are an elitist” or “I can’t stand all this whining” does not persuade the reader but will often have the opposite effect – ridicule has its place but not when presented alone without a well thought out counter-argument. Furthermore, a failure or a refusal to acknowledge the weaknesses of your own arguments does not project strength rather it reveals sophomoric and shallow thought.

Political discourse should be a polite exchange of ideas and arguments; however, that does not mean it should be devoid of passion. An attack against an argument or policy is often confused with a personal attack on the proponent of that argument. Perhaps, that is because people tend to personalize their politics a bit too much – which is a mistake. I don’t believe progressives/liberals are bad evil people – they are clearly not and I live among and are friends with a lot of them – but I do think they should have to defend certain policies on the merits and I resent those who resort to simple ridicule or convenient straw men.

The problem with that is that you are basically arguing with a brick wall. Nobody is going to change anyone elses mind on here, so it basically becomes a peeing contest.
