    • $6.2 Billion for Weatherization Assistance Program (63)
    • $4.5 Billion for Electricity Delivery (65)
    • $2.4 Billion to demonstrate Carbon Capture (67)
    • $8.4 Billion for Tribal Assistance Grants (116)
    • $1 Billion for Amtrak
    • $2 Billion for Child Care subsidies
    • $54 Billion for already deemed “ineffective” programs by the OMB & GAO.
    • $4 Billion for ACORN and others
    • $14 Billion for School Modernization (164)
That is just a start, in my opinion.

The drama continues. I read earlier today somewhere that they need 60 votes to pass it and they currently don't have that. Hopefully it stays that way.

Sorry, you're parents' house doesn't count as your own.

But seriously, you should take advantage of the 15,000 credit and get your own place. And as others have said, work on that grammar. Maybe use some of that $15k to take some classes at WSU.

Why don’t you take on some one your own size Marty (...not putting myself in that category, of course), well at least bigger than JBG. But then again, no offense to Johnny…that might be your game. I did notice you did not answer my question or request…..what ever you might call it....

Maggie, Criticism duly noted and appreciated!

As for Marty, I am a WSU graduate. For the record, the first class I was ever enrolled in at WSU was "Your Future In Business". The instructors were Ron Christy and Fran Jabara. To them and WSU, I am truly appreciative of the education I received. I'm certain that my writing skills would embarass them both. I often sign checks that other WSU grads cash and use to pay for their own basements...without the help of "Lil' Jug-eared Barry".

I am a horrible writer, and when I feel strongly about something....I ramble. At the end of the day, I am still a Shocker and a plus player in terms of taxes. The only thing I need from BO is for him to get the hell out of my way! ;-)

JBG – writing is how you make a first impression, whether it be in a resume or on an internet forum. Your heart might be in the right place (in my opinion), you may have new and different opinions but if I can’t tolerate reading what you write (and I might agree with some of your ideas) without a headache how do you expect someone who is completely opposed to take you seriously? That was my larger point.

                The lesson/advice/whatever – if there ever was one...ends now…

                Maggie

Marty, you've now taken a shot at someone else's place in life twice, in just this thread.

Apparently you haven't come to the realization that your magical $15K is for first time home buyers only, and has an income cap associated with it.

Or maybe you don't recall that in the past on SN, you've randomly admitted and justified your ownership of a small economy car.

So, tell me again, why are you indirectly talking smack on someone else's income?

He still gives credit for the 15k to Obama as well even though it was the Conservatives that brought it on and the dems gave in to get a little support from the conservatives for the stimulus package.

My point is that Moose is thanking Obama for something that he should be thanking conservatives for. He keeps talking about it like it was Obama and the libs that are responsible for it.

That web page now says $811 billion. They need to get it passed before it goes up any more. I also heard on the news that it will be over a trillion dollar after counting interest.

Both of these web pages say $780 billion. I wonder if anyone actually knows how much it's going to be.

It is astonishing how much we are behaving like Japan did nearly twenty years ago. Let's hope that Geithner's plan on Monday forces consolidation in the banking sector, it is the only way to begin crawling out of this.

Democrats argue that direct spending on infrastructure and immediate job creation can make up less than half the total bill because of an anticipated multiplier effect of approximately 2 on this government waste.

History, however, discredited Keynes LONG ago on this, and a more apt term to describe the injected money's effect on the population would be a "divisor effect". Given big government's tendency towards inefficiency, we will be lucky if every $1 in funding for this package results in $0.65 of individual spending, let alone $2 as Obama and Austin Goolsby anticipate.

Somebody like Jon Corzine (who actually knows his head from his hindquarters on this) should speak up and straighten his party out. Unfortunately, he is a ninny and New Jersey is dying for pork to fix its broken budget...
