The more I thought about it when if first came up the more I kinda like it. As long as he can make the glove to hand transition quickly he'll be fine. He's got a strong arm and is good defensively. Not sure what kind of range he'll have but I hope it works out. I really like Teahen and would like to see him settle in and start producing. I want him to succeed.

Being a third-baseman, I would think the glove-to-hand transition wouldn't be too difficult, seeing as how that's something they have to do pretty much any time they field a bunt or even start a DP from the hot corner.

Moving him to 2B has been on the radar of a lot of Royals fans. It will be interesting to see if it actually happens.

The only problem I could see for someone moving to 2nd base would be the turning the double play. The footwork required around the base to avoid the runner and find an open throwing lane is something that takes a little while to learn. With Teahen, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to work as hard as needed to learn these skills, plus his bat is more suitable for the 2nd base position than a corner OF spot. Might as well give him a chance. I'm not sold on Callaspo at all.

Teahen is now a utility player. Production out of him is gravy.

Butler just finished his first mostly-full season (.275/.324/.400, 11 HR 55 RBI)

Check Gordon's 2nd-half numbers last year.

                        What was your question again?

I want to know when these great draft picks will put the Royals in the playoffs.

Looks like it`s been well used since 1985. :D

Thats the dam thing I never could understand: Nobody has an answer for why a team that is a consistent loser each season can always get first pick in the draft yet the players they get haven`t made them competitive.

Another season to not care then like always.

You need more than #1 picks. Not all of them pan out. You need to develop the players you do draft and fill in with trades and free agent acquisitions.

Baird was awful at most of those things. We went from having a stocked farm system to a depleted one under his watch.

Moore needs a few years to correct all of Baird's mistakes.
