I don't think his attitude is necessarily the issue. His contract vs. production is. I have no doubt that KC will eat a portion of his salary if he gets traded.

Plenty of teams have perceived malcontents and don't mind it, if they are producing.

I haven't been paying much attention, but it appears John Bale has been resigned and is expected to work out of the 'pen. It never hurts to have a good lefty available. He pitched well last year when he wasn't hurt or punching doors.

I also heard that Gathright was aquired by the Cubs. No surprise that the Royals let him go after signing Crisp. If Joey ever learns to get on base he'll be a valuable player.

I saw Pat Burrell signed with Tampa. I don't know how more teams weren't in on him.

He'll give you 20-30 HR, 120+ RBI, 100+ walks every year. Plus his On-base % is higher than most compared to him.

The Royals could have used a player like that, and the Rays got him relatively cheap.

I have not seen him play, but I've read opinions that he's not a suitable outfielder and we already have a glut of 1B/DH types.
