I was at the bar watching the game with some friends, and the response was unanimous on the 2 point try: you just don't do that on the road
The conventional wisdom is go for the tie at home and the win on the road. I am no Herm fan, but I have no problem with the decision. In fact, I really feel like the home/away should only apply if the two teams are equal. When you are clearly the lesser team, as KC will be in every game this year, go for the win. It is much more likely to win one play than a series or more.

        • Injuries have Chiefs' Defense Under the Gun

          It is getting pretty bad...

^ Yep that's 100% correct right there and I think (along with defensive injuries) the reason they did. You can argue with the play call but the decision to go was right.

Sucks that they have so many injuries now with NO coming up. I was amazed at how well they defended SD and LT, but its going to be tough to stop Brees with no pass rush and a bunch of back-ups in the secondary.

            • Seven games left. What else can Edwards do but laugh?

“If it can happen,” the coach says with a smile, “it’s going to happen to us.”
I know something else he can do besides laugh. Start packing his things, cause he's getting a one-way ticket out of town after the season.

                • If both Peterson and Edwards are not gone by the start of next season, i will no longer watch a Chiefs game until they are. Both of them are horrible at their job, and many fans are already calling for both their heads. I hope the Hunt family is smart enough to realize this and give them both their pink slips after the last game.

                  • It's funny. I've never been a big fan of Herm, but I do think he's done a pretty decent job considering.

yea same here. Alot people act like, if Billichek was coaching this team we would be 13-3. But everyone at least should known that this season was all about developing our young players, its not about wins and loses. All i wanted to see this year is guys getting better as the year went on and i believe they are. Especially if Thigpen keeps getting better each week, I think with another good draft class and a few good Free agent pick ups, we will at least contend for a playoff spot next year. For that to happen, we have to get a good Pass rusher DE and a good MLB.

not to be rude, but i will believe it when i see it, alot of chiefs fans have said that about peterson for the last 5 years, but they continue to sell out. I will support them, because if peterson is here for another year, its not the end of the world, because hes already stated that this is his last contract. (which 2009 is his last year on his contract)

                        • I can't say this for fact, but my friends in KC last weekend told me that the upper deck has been mostly empty the last few home games, and they're not sure how a blackout has been avoided? I don't remember seeing stadium shots, but I'm going to watch at the next home game to see if they show it. If that is the case then it'll be interesting to see if the folks saying nothing will happen to Peterson as long as they sell out are right, and something will happen now, regardless of how the team closes out the year?

                          • They avoid the blackout because those seats are still sold.

                              • Geez, it's hard to imagine this thing has been dead for a month.

In my weekly picks, I picked KC for some strange reason. I was the only one to pick'em.

Now with that pathetic chokejob, I lose this week.

I F***ING hate the Chiefs. I hate em. I hate em. I wish they'd relocate to LA or Las Vegas or somewhere.

I hate these ******* chokejobs. I hate Kansas Cityyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. :-x
