I've been saying that over and over for some time now - THE TIME HAS COME FOR SOME TOUGH LOVE - are you listening newshock? Buying tickets to the game is a vote for the status quo.

See I don't buy into this conspiracy - because if you want butts in seats you have to have a competitive football team. Now of course, Hunt could be like the Lehman Brothers on Wall street and just be pure incompetent.

          • Not really.

Oakland is right up there when it comes to worst teams in the NFL

that just makes everything that much worse.

As far as ownership is concerned I dont see anything wrong with the Hunt family. Now if we go into the offseason and everything is still in place then i can see some questions being raised.

Things were bad when we picked up Devard Darling and thought this would help out the receivers. Of course I dont think any fan serious or casual thought that but mgmt sure did.

The Chiefs definently need Oline help the most. If Brodie was back there 5 years ago he would have been an all pro *ok slight exageration* but still. But to be honest I dont keep up with college football enough to know what the lineman look like out there.

i know there will be some qb's that could come out this year and nice *chase daniel* but who knows.

Im all for Cowher in 09 or hell even bring back marty ball.

Also I know i said something else 2 years ago but LJ should be traded for vetern line help. We have a good core of backup backs with Kolby and Charles.

            • The Chiefs suck, plain and simple. Herm Edwards is not the answer. He was a defensive coordinator (for the Jets), and he hasn't made the transition to being a head coach very well. Why do you think the Chiefs offense sucks so bad?

Larry Johnson has a legitimate gripe about not be in the game when he should.

              • heres some good draft rankings. There are a few line men. As for QB i expect that Matt Stafford and USC's qb Mark Sanchez would come out. Sanchez would prolly be a mid 1st rounder, but Stafford would prolly be 1st guy taken.

                • And fans have a legitimate gripe about LJ running like a little girl. I know the O-line isn't great, but less than 2 YPC? He runs into his blockers too damn much and seems to have lost whatever it was that made him so good a few years back. I'd much rather see Smith and Charles get some touches than watch LJ continue to do what he's doing.

And why is it when they do hand the ball to Charles it's always between the tackles? Why not get him outside some where he can use his speed and quickness more?

I still haven't seen a college QB that would come out that makes me so "oh my God, we have to have that one." I know I don't follow as closely as many of you, but I'm not sold on any of them. I'd rather take another OL.

                  • But to go against your arguement Sub, Jay Cutler wasn't tearing it up at Vandy and now look at him.

Week 2 and we're already looking at draft rankings, when did we become the Royals?!? lol :D

I saw LJ's comments after the game where he wants the ball more. I can see both sides, yes he needs to do more with the carries he had to get more, but it is also hard to get in a rhythm when you're only in for a few plays at a time. They just need to get some sustained drives or no one will get a rhythm 3 plays at a time!

They kinda tore him up for saying "it ain't gonna happen" for him to get up and block the blitzing LB on that play when Huard was sacked, when he's lined up 7 yards back. Just my opinion but I kind of put that one on Huard, when you see a LB charging at you full steam why do you continue the snap count so he crosses the line right as the ball is snapped?!?

I'm not a big fan of first round QB's myself, too much $ risk and you can really set the franchise back if you miss. I'm a proponent of always drafting a QB, every year, usually in the 3rd-5th round depending on need. That way you have guys coming in and (hopefully) you find out if they can play, if not you cut them loose and try again next year, but at least you're never left with nothing.

It's also not all about stats and numbers. Even before the draft, Cutler was arguably the best of the bunch. And he had certain things that made him much more attractive.

                        • The chiefs need to trade LJ away for a pick in the first round. That will help them get to 0-16 easier. This team is not good. Will not be good this year. And doesn't deserve to win. They are that bad.

The Tampa Bay team from the 80's that went O fer is surely wanting a little bit of company.

if we could find someone stupid enough to trade us a 1st rounder we would do it. The best we could get for him now would be somewhere around a 4th rounder

                            • I felt strongly at the time that it was a colossal mistake to sign LJ to a long-term deal. Guy had too much tread on the tires and the team was not built going forward (i.e. good O-line) to play to his strengths. Now looking back I was right. Smart organizations like NE rent RB’s turning them over every 3-4 seasons. Really, RB’s are dime a dozen while it’s much harder to find the right QB and O-tackles. NE has proven over and over you can just plug RB’s in to fit the system. Just another indication this organization is clueless.
